  • Informative for those interested in knowing more about well known pirates. The guide was energetic and into his role and treated all of the children well. They offer military discounts. Thanks  more »
  • We went to the museme not knowing if this was the typical tourist rip off. When we went in they had just started a tour with a man dressed as a pirate and he gave a great presentation. Was interactive...  more »

  • I really liked the museum. They have a lot of interesting stuff to look at if you're interested in the history of piracy. We did the treasure hunt that they offered - which was super fun, but almost too distracting. You pretty much look for hidden clues to where you can open something and look at cool stuff. Visitors who don't do the treasure hunt would probably never see those additional items. However, because we looked for the clues everywhere, we were less inclined to actually walk through the museum and read everything. So just be aware of that. :) (I'm sure the treasure hunt is meant more for kids, and they'll love it!!). They also offer a few interactive things like firing a canon. I'm giving 4 stars because I was a bit disappointed by the gift shop. I thought that at a pirate museum you should be able to acquire cool stuff that might look somewhat "authentic". E.g. fabric maps, leather accessories, etc. But they pretty much only offer plastic-y things that look too fake for me to even want to get any of it as souvenir. So don't go there if you look for a little costume or so (besides hats - they had two kinds of cool authentic looking hats.)
  • Very interactive and great for kids and adults of any ages. The "pirates" were very friendly and so much fun to listen to. I love all the artifacts and history that goes into this place and would gladly go again!
  • Among the best museums I've ever visited. I can't believe the variety of real pirate artifacts and history. They did a great job of immersing you in the pirate world with tons of information to go along with it.
  • My Husband and I vacationed in Saint Augustine. The Pirate Museum was top of our list of places to visit. We were greeted right away and the people were so sweet. We had a wonderful time looking at all the pirate lore and treasure. We even joined in on the treasure hunt and we're rewarded with a keepsake medallion that will go in our scrapbook of memories. This place is a must to visit. I highly recommend.
  • Super fun and interesting. Would've never thought to go to a pirate museum had family not recommended it but definitely worth the stroll through. They also have giant squid plushes that if you buy everyone in St. Augustine will be complimenting you on and asking you about.
