Ripley's Believe It or Not, St. Augustine

3.5
#4 of 22 in Museums in St. Augustine
Specialty Museum Museum
This location of Ripley's Believe It or Not is the first permanent exhibit of the uncommon Ripley's collection. The franchise, founded by Robert Ripley, began as a comic panel illustrating unusual facts. The company evolved into a chain of museums, starting with this one, a year after Ripley's death. Opened in 1950, the museum houses more than 800 exhibits of wacky and strange items, including some of Ripley's own original collection. Inside you'll find shrunken heads; a stuffed, six-legged cow; and a bone motorcycle. Bring your camera to capture photos of these and many more bizarrely fascinating displays. • I've been to Ripley's in other locations so this one was as expected. Always fun and informational. The location is an old house, so there are lots of staircases. Not an ideal location for a sleeping ...  more »
  • I have been in Ripley's museums before. Some of the stuff was different, but a lot of it was the same. It's cheap fun, but if you've seen one, you've seen all.  more »
  • Me and my boyfriend visited and it was so fun. We both enjoyed walking around and seeing things you would never believe. Great for all ages.  more »

  • This place is fun.. Definitely a must-do as a resident or a visitor. Though I suspect it isn't much different from any other Ripleys.. the history of the place itself is intriguing as well. Worth a visit! Fun afternoon (especially if it is pouring outside!)
  • Very interesting stuff, and amazing back stories. A bit pricey, but they offer discounts on other local attractions so if you go in with a game plan then you can use it to save some money. Highly recommended.
  • Cool place with interesting displays. Liked the little movie theater with seats at the end. Good place to pause and rest your feet before ending tour. It wasnt overly exciting but still a nice place to visit
  • It was okay. I had been to a different Ripley's when I was a teen and was expecting this one to be a bit bigger. We did the ghost tour which I would give 5 stars to that. With the ghost tour there was lots of history about St. Augustine that I enjoyed.
  • Pretty interesting place that is worth a visit. A lot of weird things but the best part is the spinning tunnel at the end and the 2-way mirror. Those alone were worth the admission.
