Ripley's Believe It or Not, St. Augustine

3.7
This location of Ripley's Believe It or Not is the first permanent exhibit of the uncommon Ripley's collection. The franchise, founded by Robert Ripley, began as a comic panel illustrating unusual facts. The company evolved into a chain of museums, starting with this one, a year after Ripley's death. Opened in 1950, the museum houses more than 800 exhibits of wacky and strange items, including some of Ripley's own original collection. Inside you'll find shrunken heads; a stuffed, six-legged cow; and a bone motorcycle. Bring your camera to capture photos of these and many more bizarrely fascinating displays. • I wish I had the time to write how I truly feel about this place. I am amazed that anyone can say this is something to do while you are in this amazing city. I'd recommend banging my head against a wa...  more »
  • My husband and I visited the Ripley's museum on a Saturday morning. This was the first time either of us had been to a Ripley's museum despite both of us being fans of the TV show. The exhibits were p...  more »
  • Don't miss out on going to this location just because it has a sister site a few miles away in Orlando...they are not the same. Lol. Great fun, had to do go back and do ghost tour.  more »

  • Very unique We were very early for our dinner reservations & decided to walk to the Ripley’s & check it out, very nice museum with different items than your or I’m use to, very effectively run, was cool to see a portion of the iron curtain & the tallest man figure, has enough unique items to interest just about everyone, to look at each item & walk through takes about 2 hours, well worth the price for admission! Amazing This place is fun for everyone, it features many cool things like optical illusions, Guinness world records and more. I would not recommend this place for people with vertigo as their is many parts such as the uneven house, the spinning tube and many things that could cause people to feel dizzy. I would go again though! This was a much better attraction than I thought, believe it or not. We went there early in the day and got in right away. The girl at the counter was polite and nice and explained what we would encounter once we got in. The displays were brightly colored and the museum made it interesting to see the displays. There were many other people who also showed up and they seemed to be having a great time. You can spend a lot of time here reading all the signs and tidbits of information. The end of the exhibit is very interesting with "wax people" waiting for you and "taking" your picture. Don't get too close to them to touch to see if they are fake or not. The gift shop is at the end of the tour and offer lots of things for the young and the old. Again we had a nice time and enjoyed what we saw.
  • Nice place to hang out for about an hour or so. Nothing world changing, you've probably seen everything but it's still cool. Awesome historic building with lots of history. Great property too. Would love to have this as my house like the original owners. Overall a great experience.
  • Had a great time at the museum. It had a lot of things for kids so you'll spend more time there if you have kids. We don't so we just walked through looking at the cool and interesting artifacts. We were in and out in less than an hour.
  • Cool place to visit yet I wasn't too impressed. A bunch of old little facts, some that could be true and others that... IDK. Wax-hand sculpting was pretty cool (extra $$). The illusory bridge was nice too. Took us about hour and half to walk through the entire Muslim, mostly because of the reading.
  • Full of kitschy fun. The visit brought back great memories of visiting as a kid. The advertisement that it costs about a much as a movie is good. We spent more time there than watching a movie and the entry fee was reasonable.
