  • Perfect for what it is. Rustic Woods. We went with a 30 fifth wheel so there's room for big RVs and tents. Very basic campground. Refreshing! We brought our kayak, simple 2-3 hours on the water. Jumpi...  more »

  • While close to the highway, this park feels off the beaten path and is a nice natural area where someone can hike, boat, bird watch and fish. The hikes are well laid out and fairly flat. There are some very nice pavilions, free barbecue pits and picnic tables. The park does cost to enter. It is on the honor system, but there are park rangers who drive around to check to make sure you have paid and have a tag.
  • Quiet. Serene. A hidden gem to go and relax. Booked 3 nights and added 2 more during our trip. Park is clean and beautiful. Even though the bathrooms are dated they are super clean.
  • Really beautiful place, and inexpensive. There are other campgrounds in the area, but this one really captures a primitive, sub-tropical-looking Florida, complete with wild pigs, bobcats, armadillos, and rare birds. At night, it's pitch black. Very few lights anywhere except from neighboring campers. You feel like you're hours outside civilization, but really, you're quite close to St. Augustine. We even had two bars of cell phone service most of the time.
  • Nice bathroom facilities. Nice scenic road s. Camping spots improperly angled for parking trailers with traffic flow and width of road. Worse mosquitoes than the Everglades.
  • I really love the value of the canoeing deal here of $5 per hour (plus the $5 entrance fee). Compared to other parks, this is a great value. I found the ranger station to be a bit challenging to contact by phone (I never had my calls returned even though their voicemail greeting said they would), but eventually on my third day of calling somebody finally answered the phone.
