  • If you have not visited the Springfield Scheels, and you or you have kids that are into sports, you must go. In addition to having one of the largest selections of Sporting Goods around, there are act...  read more »
  • Was told about this location by a friend and I checked it out mainly for the firearm department. This place is a destination on to itself with a restaurant, Ferris Wheel, Aquarium, and history of Pres...  read more »
  • Fun over the too entertainment that so many of the larger sports stores have gone too. Love to visit and look, buy not so much. Too expensive.
  • Best customer service in Springfield! Every employee we passed said hello. Really cool fish tank when you come in and prices are competitve. The restaurant smelled great though we didn't eat there.
  • The worst bicycle mechanics on the planet. I took my bike in because I was hearing a ticking noise in the rear wheel. Their mechanics didn't understand the problem. They eventually twisted what I said into thinking that I was trying to ride with the chain in the small sprocket in the front and the small sprocket in the rear. I never use this gear because I know better. The sound was in all gears. When I came to get my bike this idiot was messing with my front derailleur. That had nothing to do with the noise. I had my front derailleur adjusted properly and now it is messed up thanks to this moron. I finally had enough, so I took my bike home. On my next ride, I noticed that the fixing bolt was missing from my crank arm. I went back to the store to get the part, but they lost it. They gave me another part that they said would fit, but it doesn't. I was promised that they would get the right part, but they never did. As a follow up, I was installing a new bottom bracket on my bike today and it didn't want to thread right. I never had this problem before, so my conclusion is the same moron who lost the crank part also messed up the threads on my frame. I thought I was done finding Scheels mistakes, but I was wrong. Today, I was changing the cassette and I discovered that the washer that goes on before the cassette was missing. This part was on the bike when I took it in to Scheels.
  • I got my wife interested in shooting a several years ago but, she always felt uncomfortable in gun shops and ranges. Frequently the shops and ranges seemed like boys clubs. When scheels opened we went shopping for a new .22 hand gun for her. The staff was friendly an knowledgeable. They made her feel extremely welcome. Their pricing is comparable to online once you account for shipping and transfer fees. Their selection is great.
  • Went for my first time yesterday. Wow! A cross between Disneyland & a sporting goods store! A giant salt water aquarium, ferris wheel, animatronic historical figures! Even a pretty good cafe w/ wifi! Plus all the stuff you would expect them to have. Really fun!
  • They had what I was looking for and the prices weren't marked up too much. Overall friendly people and it's just a really cool store to walk through, and then buy nothing. I can't imagine how awesome that place would be if I had more money.
