  • I went to the Murder Mystery Dinner. I have to say first of all that the actors (3 total) did a great job and were very entertaining. The food was fine, not super quality but fine for a variety of taste and people. What I was disappointed about the the amount of actors, plot line, and actual "mystery" part. I was expecting more like the game clue but this was not the case. The audience did nothing to figure it out and it was more like an afterthought. There was no audience interaction when I came to solving the mystery. I would not recommend the Murder Mystery to anyone who actually wants to solve a mystery.
  • My family went on the night ghost tour. I was hesitant after reading so many negative reviews on the owners and staff. I went, expecting the worst. But upon entering this beautiful place, we had quite a welcoming experience. The tour was interesting and the ambience of the house at night was intriguing. The tour guide was passionate about the house, but not exactly the greatest with enthusiasm. She would have been great with maybe a small group. We couldn't even hear many of her stories. I commend her for the patience with such a loud group, with many smaller children. Because of this, it would have been nice if it went in smaller groups with age limits. But overall, we had an excellent time and recommend it to anyone in the Springfield area. As far as ghost are concerned, I'm sure there are plenty here, but they kept their distance on this night.
  • The Murder mystery dinner is a must go to! The cast is super fun, the staff is friendly and helpful and it's just a cool place to be in. Totally recommend. Thanks guys for making our night super special!
  • I am a professional photographer and took pictures of my niece who had her wedding here. The proprietor was extremely unprofessional, I had to ask her to get out of my pictures on multiple occasions. (She was taking her own photos on her phone for some reason) she even hijacked my bride and groom as I was taking them to a different location and told me where and how to take the photos. Later, she took a cooler the DJ had brought with him that contained bottled water and threw it in the dumpster because outside drink wasn't allowed?! I later found her taking a plate from off the guests dinner tables, and dishing up herself a plate of food without asking. Horrible experience.
  • So... For one its gated and you can't drive up..reservations only(See picture #4) just wanted a few pictures for a project I'm doing called Little Love notes from around the world (See picture #3) (free exposure for the castle..and our little town right..right?) As there were no trespassing signs I respected that. I asked someone from the business next door if I could sit in the grass quietly and take my pictures...they said no problem told me I could park on their side. And where to stay in the grass to remain on their property NOT the castles property. (See picture #2) Well the OWNER? came out to let a reserved party in...I flagged her down from where I was sitting to ask if I could get a little closer...as there was a party there anyways but I would not get near them or bother anyone. She immediately got so mean and rude and said no you can't and you need to leave if you want a picture you can do it from the road..(See picture #1).I said okay I'm sorry this business said I could park in their parking lot and take pictures from here..but if this grass section is your ill gladly move to the parking lot continuing to apologize and walk away...shes like no and its not your business or theirs. Then proceeded to come next door to the business I had asked and chew the poor front desk lady out (who was NOT the one to give me permission anyways) I was apologizing the whole time as I was packing up the cards and walking away and she was a absolute mean and angry lady. I understand jerks have ruined it (that's what the guy who gave me permission said..because they were not respecting her property with the whole Pokemon go game thing and jumping her fence) but also I was being nice and respectful not crossing lines and being quiet and settled in one spot and asking her permission and explaining what I would be doing. So the need to be so rude to me was totally uncalled for. Maybe because I was dressed frumpy she though she could be rude to me? I don't know but I just moved from Texas...and had a quick wedding at the court house...when me and my husband saw this place I saw a small wedding in my beautiful black dress...a dark romantic castle wedding..where my family could come......I WILL NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN MY MONEY...AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER. You have a castle...people want pictures because its so cool. I'm sorry it must get overwhelming....but its like being a star if you don't want paparazzi don't be a celebrity...and in this small town that's what you are. You chose to have a castle or run it or whatever. You don't have to be a jerk about it.
