  • My family and I try to go each year. Love walking the trails and seeing all the animals. Would love to see the otters play, but haven't caught that yet. They were asleep in their log this time. We did...  more »
  • The zoo looks awesome in October when they have out all their decorations. I live in Joplin and we frequently drive to this zoo. Nice zoo for a nice price.  more »

  • This is one of my favorite zoos!! I worked here as a young adult when the grounds were much more barren. So, happy to see how the foliage and exhibits have changed over time. Today's visit included zoo staff stationed at various exhibits providing samples and information about the animals. I really enjoyed revisiting here!!
  • Good prices (12$) for a small zoo. Went in the cool of evening... Not all animals were really active but most were and nearly all the people were leaving so I had a nice quiet walk with my daughter. Overall a fun day.
  • There were more animals here than I expected. However, the most impressive thing was the play areas. There are 2 sets of playground equipment outside of the zoo with a pavilion and bathrooms. Then there is another set of playground equipment inside. The biggest downside of visiting was navigating the narrow parking area. Also it is very hilly and I think it would not be a good place to bring someone with limited mobility.
  • It's a wonderful zoo that is very clean and fun to walk around. Essentially it feels like a nice park that you pay to get into. The playground in the zoo is pretty good as well. The only thing I would say is to bring your own food as the food available for purchase is only junk food.
  • We had a good time. You need more than 2 hours to fully see everything and walk the whole way. There's a train, too, not too much for a ride but no way on $4 a soda. Best to pack a lunch. Souvenirs are reasonable prices. Very friendly folks and some beautiful animals and scenery.
