#1 of 41 in Things to do in Spokane
Nature / Park
A public park, Riverfront Park spans 40 hectares (100 acres) and has features ranging from bike trails and walking paths, to a sculpture walk and IMAX theater. The park’s position along the Spokane River offers some of the best views of the falls. To see the falls close up, take a 15-minute ride in the SkyRide gondola. Get into nature on one of the many walking paths or by biking the Great Centennial Trail, which has access points from the park. Kids will love the many amusement rides, as well as the Looff Carrousel, which is over 100 years old and is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. You can finish off your day by grabbing a bite to eat at the Pavilion Cafe. Add Riverfront Park and other attractions to your Spokane trip itinerary using our Spokane trip builder.

  • When we arrived the park was under construction. Hence the 4 stars. But, what I got to experience was the powerful Spokane Water Falls. Wow having a waterfall in the middle of the city, is luck. The city build around it and allowed for this waterfall be a highlight. My daughter had fun exploring along side the waterfall. This is a good pit stop for kids and adults from a road trip. The art that incorporated into the sidewalk was beautiful. It was iron statues of runners in a race. One can imagine running among them. The mall was quite impressive as well. I will love to return to Spokane Washington for another visit.
  • A wonderful park to walk through. We only barely scratched the surface while we were there on a very tight time table. Lovely river, waterfalls, very nicely up-kept paths to walk on, interesting artwork and we even saw a marmot. You should plan on spending several hours here to see it all!
  • Always a lovely green space. Play areas for the children, the river for senic views and feeding geese. Fair warning: expect disruption and construction all through the summer of 17 (at least). I spoke to the chief archeologist of the project at a conference in May 17 though, and the updates sound wonderful - more stages for music, more power outlets for the many festivals... Spokane is making a great effort with this central park!
  • It's a beautiful park but today is the 4 th of July celebration and fireworks are being set off so I don't get where people are totally ignorant and to the signs that say NO ANIMALS EXCEPT SERVICE ONES... and you can't tell me every single dog I've seen is one. I heard others complain also about the dogs ( also not cleaning up after their pet) . There was law enforcement there but this wasn't being enforced. So ,what is the point of putting up a no pets sign and tobacco free zone if you are not going to e en enforce it?
  • In the middle of construction. Once finished I'm sure it will be great. Waterfall and electric power plant were interesting sites. Geese were also super friendly and cute.
