  • I have always loved this park. I was a child when it first opened as the world's fair. I am excited to see the new improvements as they come on line this summer. Over the Christmas (2017) holiday my visit took me downtown with friends to see the new Ice Ribbon. Very nice addition to the park. I cannot wait to see the new carousel in operation with its new digs, and the pavilions new design looks pretty cool too.
  • I'm looking forward to a 5 star visit in the Spring when much of the construction will be completed and cleaned up. Our visit today was to the Ice Ribbon skating area. The ribbon was amazing and the associated building (rentals and restaurant) was well designed and comfy. We didn't skate but we will likely go back to do so. We are very excited for the other new offerings coming next year. Way to go Spokane!
  • The New Year's Eve fireworks show was great. I also wandered over to see what my tax dollars bought and paid for next to the gondola. That ice skating ribbon is magnificent. I didn't get to try it out, but at the very least, it sure looks very fitting and top shelf near the fountain and new(er) gondola ride. Spokane is finally acquiring some QUALITY attractions not just for tourists, but residents alike.
  • Riverfront Park is the best place to gather with family and friends, they have lots of events to attend with family. It's a kids friendly place with eye catching river and greenery. I love the walking trails and watching birds on the river.
  • I was in town for a conference and had a few hours to spare my last morning before flying home. I grabbed breakfast and coffee and then walked the park for about 90 minutes. It was a great morning. A little brisk, being late October, but the sun was out and the walking kept me warm. The park is beautiful and a good size. They were doing some construction on one area but it wasn't very loud and did not distract. There are lots of paths so even if you wander aimlessly, as I did, and walk back and forth multiple times, as I also did, there are multiple paths and stairways and bridges to keep mixing it up. I highly recommend, just walk down past the big red radio flyer!

Where to stay in Spokane

Check out the downtown area close to the train station for boutique hotels and guesthouses located close to major attractions. Some of the finest, fanciest options are located west of the train station, including some long-established hotels with a real sense of grandeur and contemporary interiors. Motels on the highways leading north and southwest out of town provide a good alternative for those on a budget or just passing through.
