#Nature / Park, #Must See
A public park, Riverfront Park spans 40 hectares (100 acres) and has features ranging from bike trails and walking paths, to a sculpture walk and IMAX theater. The park’s position along the Spokane River offers some of the best views of the falls. To see the falls close up, take a 15-minute ride in the SkyRide gondola. Get into nature on one of the many walking paths or by biking the Great Centennial Trail, which has access points from the park. Kids will love the many amusement rides, as well as the Looff Carrousel, which is over 100 years old and is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. You can finish off your day by grabbing a bite to eat at the Pavilion Cafe. • We love this park. While parking is frustrating at times, I’m rarely disappointed in our visits here. The newly renovated carousel is beautiful. The skyride is now open again for a ride over the water...  more »
  • A lot of upgrades to the park. It looks really nice. The carousel is beautiful and the falls are great to walk to and observe. Plenty of benches to sit and hang out. Would recommend if you’re in Spoka...  more »

  • Riverfront Park is a lovely, well-kept space that provides great access to view the river, along with a variety of activities. I highly recommend a visit if you enjoy a nice walk around water and over bridges. There is also a playground for kids with a super cool giant red wagon that doubles as a full-size slide. Riverfront Part is a really great place for a picnic in the summer or ice skating in the winter. I have a lot of fond memories in this park and I can't recall a time I left dissatisfied. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.
  • This former site of a World's Fair is frequently the site of an Exposition of some sort. We went to taste of Spokane. The entire area was filled with food vendors offering different tastes that are native to this area. Parking is nearby, but at all costs money. My wife was confined to a wheelchair during this visit. While everything we wanted to see except for the ice ribbon was accessible via wheelchair, it was a very, very long walk. There were few places to rest. And we use them all.
  • I have always loved this park. I was a child when it first opened as the world's fair. I am excited to see the new improvements as they come on line this summer. Over the Christmas (2017) holiday my visit took me downtown with friends to see the new Ice Ribbon. Very nice addition to the park. I cannot wait to see the new carousel in operation with its new digs, and the pavilions new design looks pretty cool too.
  • Right now they have about half the park closed off. There are no good scenic routes available left to walk. Every loop is cut off by a construction fence. They've officially terminated one of the best places to relax by terrible and inefficient construction schedules. If you want to walk through the park, don't plan on it for another year or two because there are no good routes left to walk on.
  • I'm looking forward to a 5 star visit in the Spring when much of the construction will be completed and cleaned up. Our visit today was to the Ice Ribbon skating area. The ribbon was amazing and the associated building (rentals and restaurant) was well designed and comfy. We didn't skate but we will likely go back to do so. We are very excited for the other new offerings coming next year. Way to go Spokane!
