  • Have great trails but want to be able to take time and enjoy them because they are pretty hilly. I was there when the leaves were falling and made the trails a little slippery. Beautiful scenery and c...  more »
  • We spent the last 2 nights in the modern campground. It is very clean and well cared for. Nice shady campsites with tall pine trees. The hiking trails are well marked and maintained. The falls is beau...  more »

  • Hands down one of the nicest State Parks we have visited anywhere in the US. Have made two visits in two years, and expect to make more. Have not yet interacted with an on site park employee that was not friendly, courteous, and helpful. From camping to hiking, swimming, picnicking, playgrounds, waterfalls, and nature center, not to mention the Inn and Restaurant, McCormick Creek State Park has something for everyone. The camp sites are shady, and mature, and range from rustic to modern water & electric sites, and will accommodate a wide variety of camping gear, from tents to travel trailers to big rig motor homes. The bath houses are not new, but are well maintained and kept nice and clean for the most part. The park can get crowded on the weekends, and appears to be a family favorite for many. In short, if you've never been there, it's definitely worth a visit to find out why it is such a popular destination for folks all over the region
  • One of the 2 of Indiana's first state parks and absolutely gorgeous! Celebrated its centennial and I also come here every year for family reunion. Has one of Indiana's only waterfalls!
  • This is an OK park, because there was nothing exceptional about it; neither good or bad. Hiking trails are predominantly simple and moderately scenic, but the map is not great. The Wolf Cave was pretty neat, as were the falls. Didn't get to ride horses, but had hoped to before our trip began. There aren't any showers for primitive campers, other than the pool showers that cost $3, and are actually pretty nice. McCormick's Creek was nice, but not great. So far, Shades is the place for me...
  • We love McCormick's Creek! Camping sites are great, only downside is that they only allow 1 vehicle on each site so if you have visitors it can be a hassle taking folks to the overflow lot. Staff is very friendly, trails are perfect for any level of hiker or sites seer. Wolf Cave is a great, pretty tight even for a small adult, but a cool experience none the less. You won't run out of things to do for sure. If you are contemplating, book it, you won't regret it!
  • Such a nice quiet relaxing park, pretty close to Indy. Love their group camp sites. Cabins are clean with inside bathroom, and the dining area is large and can accommodate a ton of people and food.
