  • This park has so much to offer! We rented a cabin for one night and filled up our two days in the park. My three kids, my husband, and I slept comfortably in a family cabin. The cabin was basic but ha...  read more »

  • great place to go hiking with family nice and clean various trails depending on the adventure you wish for
  • This is an OK park, because there was nothing exceptional about it; neither good or bad. Hiking trails are predominantly simple and moderately scenic, but the map is not great. The Wolf Cave was pretty neat, as were the falls. Didn't get to ride horses, but had hoped to before our trip began. There aren't any showers for primitive campers, other than the pool showers that cost $3, and are actually pretty nice. McCormick's Creek was nice, but not great. So far, Shades is the place for me...
  • We love McCormick's Creek! Camping sites are great, only downside is that they only allow 1 vehicle on each site so if you have visitors it can be a hassle taking folks to the overflow lot. Staff is very friendly, trails are perfect for any level of hiker or sites seer. Wolf Cave is a great, pretty tight even for a small adult, but a cool experience none the less. You won't run out of things to do for sure. If you are contemplating, book it, you won't regret it!
  • Absolutely love this place! They have trails to fit everyone's needs. From ADA trail (#8) to difficult (#3 when water is high). Like most state parks in Indiana, none of the trails are very long. I think the longest is 2.5 miles but many trails intersect so you can combine them to create a longer hike. I Love the waterfall, quarry, white river west fork, the bridges, homestead and campground!
  • Great park all year round. Got yer wildlife, earth, sky, trees, waterfalls, caves, and even a very accommodating Inn. All good stuff.
  • Oldest, but best Indiana state park! Great accommodations, good people that work their, and great views. What's not to love?
