  • We have camped here for over 50 years and this was the first year the beach was closed. NO SWIMMING, lifeguard. You are camping at a LAKE, but you can't swim in it. I understand that the state may hav...  read more »
  • This past weekend was our second time at Moffitt. We re-booked because it was so perfect for what we want to do: car camping toilets showers easy access to water easy access to dump in our kayaks not ...  read more »
  • The views here are to die for. We recently went tent camping here for July 4th and will definitely be coming back for sure. Most of the sites are on the water but there are a few not, so be sure to as...  read more »
  • We live 3 hours away. Took our girls in to bring them to the beach and it was much too cold to enjoy even being on the beach. The parking lot was covered in Goose poop and we decided to leave after 5 minutes. We asked the woman at the booth if she'd refund our 8 dollars and she said no refunds. We considered coming back for a weekend of camping up until this point. We won't be returning. We had a great experience at the Melody Lodge and at Lake Pleasant but other than that I'd avoid this town. From what I heard from some locals, Americade used to roll through here but the last two years it's been dead. Sounds to me like they can't afford to be losing any more visitors.
  • 2 stars for the location, that's about it. I made the mistake of coming here for my birthday with a group of about 10. We had 3 camp sites. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO PARTY/HAVE FUN. Everyone there was in there late 60's with their motor-homes trying to get "some peace and quiet." definitely wouldn't have chosen to come here if i knew it was a senior citizens campground. They are very strict with their quiet hours and my group was told that we should have been kicked out the first night for noise complaints and if we are making too much noise again (and i quote) "drunk or not you will be forced to leave." We kept to our tent sites the entire time and the other days we were on a boat outside of the campsite, the people here deserve no stars but the lake is beautiful which is their only beacon of hope. ***IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PARTY/HAVE FUN DO NOT COME HERE**
  • A bit tucked away which is nice. Hadn't planned on this having bears at night but that's a possibility. Don't choose a site near the dumping station. Quiet, nice clean beach and clean showers. There's not much in town though. Ice is available on property so is wood.
  • I love Moffit Beach, it is so amazingly beautiful
  • Been coming up from NJ for the past 25 years and I can honestly say this is one of the best spots to camp on the East and spend some time relaxing. Highly recommend laying on the beach at night and watching the shooting stars and satellites fly by... Town is nearby if you need it, boat rentals right across the main "highway" (they will also deliver to Moffitt if you have a 3 day+ rental). Pretty good restaurants in town to grab a beer and get WiFi, tons to do if you venture out far enough from the campgrounds from golfing to float plane tours to great hiking. If you have your own kayak or canoe there are tons of great rivers, streams and lakes to explore. I cant wait to have kids of my own to bring up there and keep the tradition going for as long as possible... :)
