  • "The Mall" has been just about the only place in the greater Portland area for teenagers to hangout since the late '80s. It's also (as far as I know) the largest mall in Maine, so your chances of finding what you're looking for are pretty good. Older eyes have let me see that the times have changed with the economy and since, have changed "The Mall's" focus. There seems to be a greater focus on younger kids, with a carousel located near the food court, and a couple of annoyances such as poor hours of operation, and (on the business side) high rental costs that translate to more empty stores in high traffic areas.
  • Good variety of shops, both big and small. Pop up booths along the main halls offer fun and quirky product options. Bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. Solid variety to the food court. Pretty good directional signs, but it is still kind of easy to get lost. Multiple entrances and copious parking make it easy to find a spot and get in.
  • Has a good balance of stores. The food court also offers a good selection. Would like to see an upscale store like Nordstrom, or Lord & Taylor here too.
  • Deceptively large mall. Decent layout, great mix of stores. Good location, easy to find. Lots of parking.
  • There is always something new here. For example, today I went and saw a new vendor selling wooden Maine made wine racks. They were beautiful! Check out the mall often. You'd surprise of the deals you can find from time to time
