  • Great place for kids and adults alike. The river was fantastic. My only concern was that it was really cold inside but that was likely because it was very cold outside. The water is not heated.  more »
  • I enjoy going to Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark. The location near the South Padre Island Beach makes it an ideal place. You do not have to worry about the dangers of the ocean and can enjoy your time ...  more »
  • First, we love the Schlitterbahn outdoor Waterparks and have been visiting their Original Waterpark in New Braunfels for almost 40 years - there are no better waterparks that we know of. Having been t...  more »

  • You will have a lot of fun if you remember yourself when you were 6. If not, go have a latte or check Lululemon outlet :) We had good time here with the kids even this place is quite ran down. Keep your expectations lower. Day pass is somewhat overpriced for the off-season. 50% discount would make much more sense.
  • Great host for the sPI Marathon and expo, we were accommodated and the staff were very professional. At ease for all who were present on the grounds, and they were attentive to our every need when needed. Parking was made easy with the use of the parking permit too!!
  • ATT has no cell service... They do have sufficient free wifi internet for the amount of people here Xmas eve.(it is an open public network. I would not check my bank account in it, but worked for the kids) Very friendly, was here on a weekend and it was cold. Great alternative to the beach on a crappy day. I'd say worth the money if you can't go outside.
  • We had fun, but two of the water slides were closed. We rented a Cabana and when we took off, some people came and rummaged through our stuff and stole some souvenir cups and other trinkets. Of course, everything of value was in the locker, but still, how desperate are you to steal souvenir cups? The staff told us they confronted the robbers but that they ran away, and staff advised us to go to customer service to see if they could help us out by replacing our stolen cups. We recovered 3 out of 5 cups. Why they didn't give us our 5 cups when the staff themselves were the ones that confirmed we had 5 cups is beyond me. I would have rated 4 stars, but them not wanting to cover $14 (the cups costing them probably not more than a dollar) left a bad taste in my mouth. We had fun, but management needs to step up the customer service.
  • Love the place! People/staff very friendly. Water attractions are AWESOME! worth the $$$ Rooms accomodations could be better, but we were still very please with everything!! We got a king size and couch bed. Couch bed was really bad. You are able to feel all the rings from the mattress. Overall, great. We will return

Where to stay in South Padre Island

As with most tropical destinations, room rates in South Padre Island increase the closer you get to the beachfront, especially if you arrive at the height of tourist season. If you’ve built in a big budget for accommodations, stay at one of the town's high-rise luxury hotels or private seaside cottages. To stay near the water without spending too much, avoid the expensive spring break season. Consider one of the island's inns or developed campgrounds with easy beach access.
