  • The NC side of the swamp was a bit of a let down. We took a nice walk on the boardwalk and then the canal road. We did get to see the mist roll in on the canal, that was neat.

  • Awesome place! The staff are very friendly and gave us suggestions of other places to see in the area. Great hiking trails and awesome kayaking. A must see when in Elizabeth City!!
  • A good place to spend time they have canoes for rent . Nature and bike paths. 3 miles of paved walking paths and 20+ miles of dirt paths.
  • Very impressed with the personable staff here. They gave me great advice which allowed me to bag a photo of a Black Bear around mid-day.
  • Offers a great opportunity for the local community and beyond to learn about native plants, animals, ecosystems and the important services they provide to people in a diminishing forested landscape in the coastal plain of North Carolina.
  • There are lots of interesting things to see and learn at this park.
