  • To get to the state park area, it looks as if you are going into a rest area. The state park signs are behind the rest area. The visitor center was good, and the boardwalk lets you see the wetlands wi...  more »
  • Rented kayaks and paddled down the canal. Beautiful!! Three hiking trails. The one through the swamp is raised wood walkway. We had a great day here!
  • An astounding place I had never heard of. It's a massive wild, swampy area that sits on the border of North Carolina and VA. We stopped on the way to Chincoteague Island because I just had to see a place called "The Great Dismal Swamp". It has a nice clean visitor center, with displays and information and lucky for us, T shirts. Worth a longer visit than we could give it.
  • Nice place, good loops and some good plaques and exercise points. It was a good place to take the dog.
  • Super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff and a well cared for facility. Our family loves it here!
  • It gives people information on the history of the swamp area as well as lots of walking/biking trails to experience the beauty of the area.
