(4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Relax in a peaceful, secluded area of Lake Tahoe at Pope Beach. Sheltered by pine trees and mountains, this shore generally remains uncrowded, with facilities including picnic tables, barbecue grills, and restrooms. Stretch out on the clean sand or take a dip in the shallow water, which is also perfect for children. If you bring food, remember to keep it covered in case seagulls swoop in. • Wonderful beach with good facilities. Get there early to get a good spot and not have to wait in line to park.
  • Great, long beach on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. One of the best natural places to swim anywhere, the water is shallow with to stand up in for a good couple hundred feet out at least, with a nice sandy bottom. They also have kayak, SUP and petal boats for rent. Bears were in the vicinity when we were there.
  • Very good beach for picknik. Plenty of parking spots. Parking has a $8 fee payable only by cash so that is a problem. There is no roadside parking next to it. But it's worth it. The sand is great and lake is not to deep so perfect for swimming. Water is always cold so make sure you have proper swimming grease before entering the water. I did not see any life guards. Overall great place to picknik and relax on the shore of the lake Tahoe.
  • Not the best of lake Tahoe. Access fee was $8 per car. The beach was clean with plenty of sand. Nothing really remarkable.
  • You can walk out into the lake forever before water reaches your neck. The clearest Lake water I've ever seen. Very nice beach. Get here early. Parking will often run out.
