  • We were just visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this museum. Went thru the self guided tour and then signed up for the river cruise as well. The weather was very pretty for September though a ...  read more »
  • Like smaller, interesting, slightly-quirky, museums a-la Americana?... Go. Not into that sort of thing?... then you should know better to begin with, 'cause it's exactly what it appears to be. Lots of...  read more »
  • Interesting displays of life on the lake; commercial fishing, ship wrecks, the missing NWA flight, and search and rescue ops. Don't miss the "barn" where you can climb up to a platform that overlooks ...  read more »
  • Great Time. Yes, it's small, but then it's easy to see it all. The Coast Guard Rescue boats were of interest, but the several operating boats and the chance to take a ride on Lake Michigan or the Black River were nice. The Sloop, Friends Good Will, we enjoyed watching it sail, really motored in and out of harbor (sailed on the open lake). Then the electric boat of the 1930's and 40's took a nice cruise of South Havens harbor and up the Black River.
  • We tried this museum to burn some time until lunch. It was a lot better than expected. We had a chance to get on the ship and had a personal tour with the captain. Our six year old loved it and it was very educational. We didn't do the boat tour because we just missed it and the next one wasn't for another hour and a half. Even the little museum area had a lot of great information about the Great Lakes and local ship wrecks.
  • Nice little place preserves history of shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. Also, has boats for excursions. I especially liked the "Friends Good Will", a single masted sloop replica.
  • The museum is pretty cool but the sunset sail is absolutely amazing!
  • Surprising more to see here than I thought.
