  • The Festival of Lights was just gorgeous. If you are in Charleston between mid-November and January 1st, you must take a side trip to see this. There are all kinds of light displays set up along the 3...  more »

  • This place is amazing! $2 a head to get in and well worth it. I came across this on a Charleston trip and almost preferred it over the beach. Convenient to get to about 8 minutes from downtown. A water park, canoe/paddle boat rentals for $6, a gorgeous clean dog park, and clean restrooms. I rented a paddle boat and the network of water is so fun to explore. There are picnic tables throughout the park so if you're looking for a nice place to enjoy the outdoors and eat lunch, this is it. This by far was my favorite experience on the trip.
  • One of my favorite places ever. I love coming for the lights around Christmas time, and I also like to visit during the day any time of year because it's a great place to go walking, kayaking, paddle boating, geocaching, or just generally to hang out. There's also lots of facilities to rent for any size occasion(indoors and out), as well as an RV Park, cottages & camp site. They are always adding more activities and new fun things to do. The staff is always warm and helpful and even when they're super busy I've always had a great experience.
  • Always a great place to go to get outside! Great prices. They also always have neat events! They have big clean camp grounds and cabins and a great fishing/crabing dock.
  • So much to do at JICP! Plenty to check out for all ages and interests. Camping, water park, dog pond, kayaking/canoeing, rock climbing, playgrounds, hiking, music and food events and of course, the Holiday Light Show! Admission is very reasonable and worth purchasing a pass if you live in the area and have dogs, kids, or just need more nature in your life. :)
  • We camped in the primitive campsite area. It is a large open area with fire rings and picnic tables spread around the area. There are several sites tucked back in the trees that offer more privacy, but you have to get there early to get those spots! Camping equipment must be carried into the area- no backing the car right up to your campsite. There are restrooms right there in the primitive area with flush toilets and sinks. The shower house is a 3-5 min walk and is very clean and well-lit. We enjoyed our stay. The park has a lot of activities and is a short drive from the beach or downtown Charleston. We would definitely stay here again.
