Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web
At the heart of Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Plaza offers historical sightseeing, shopping, dining, and arts. See the early 20th-century city hall that's still in use and the Bear Flag monument that marks the spot of an 1846 Mexican-American War revolt. Browse the shops for clothing, bags, jewelry, and books. Because of its proximity to wine country, you can choose from among an array of wine cellars and tasting rooms and indulge in local and imported brands. You'll find plenty of galleries here that feature historical and contemporary pieces from around the world, and the area offers numerous spots for photography. Start your visit at the visitors' bureau on the east side of the plaza. Add Sonoma Plaza to your Sonoma travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Sonoma vacation route planner.

  • Well, it depends on what are you looking for. If you want to visit some restaraunt and drink wine, it might be a good place. But if you looking for sightseeing... I personally have not found anything interesting here. Nice place, but not great.
  • An historic Plaza with a landmark city hall building in the center. There are clothing shops, art galleries, jewelery stores, a movie theater, Spanish barracks, restaurants and the Mission San Francisco Solano.
  • Cool Plaza, worth checking out with a park surrounding, good for families or anyone looking to enjoy some ice cream in the shade.
  • I like going on Tuesday evenings for the Farmer's market. Fresh produce, food trucks, live music. BYO wine.
  • Full of history and of nice shops and restaurants. It's a must visit at sonoma.
