  • Went there last Saturday for wine tasting. As we parked, a young lady in a Schug vest told us not to bother getting out of car as they were having a special event. We were told to go any other winery;...  read more »
  • Walter Shug started this place to make wine. He did a great job. Wines made in the European style. Great history and wine. They do a very nice Pinot and a good Chardonnay. Small friendly place to tast...  read more »
  • Schug Carneros Estate goes to great lengths to make a quality Pinot Noir, and their efforts are your reward. The winery tour & visit has never been the focus of the estate, but now that the heirs of t...  read more »
  • Went because of good things I heard about the pinots. However, the chardonnay surprised me in a great way. I don't like the usual buttery concoction. Their's had some interesting tastes to it. But what made this great was the staff. We were helped by Harrison. He knew his stuff with interesting takes on wine and history. It was obvious he really enjoyed his job and believes in Schug. Also, really liked the winery itself. It feels quaint and similar to a family European winery. Plus, surrounded by amazing hillside scenery.
  • Our last vineyard stop, we were more interested in their self-guided tour through the vineyards, but be prepared for extreme heat and sunshine! The bartender was super fun; there was no push for buying anything (unlike most other vineyards). We got to try a late harvest chardonnay that was delightful!
  • Great experience here! We stopped after checking reviews for a bunch of places, and we had agreed to only stop at 2 wineries max. This was our first choice. Absolutely amazing experience! Thom was fantastic and walked us through the tasting as well as gave us great recommendations for places to see in the surrounding area (we were traveling through on a 2 month road trip). We had to pull straws on which wines to buy, settled on the Malbec and Pinot noir, and are more than satisfied with our whole experience! Thanks y'all!
  • Beautiful property, liked the pinot noir.
  • Wine is decent nothing to write home about, but their reds werent strong. We also felt a lil rushed as we came here half an hour before closing. if you like chards its worth a stop.
