  • We picked out and got a spirited, fun tasting here. This is the oldest family fun winery and they take pride in giving you a sense of family in their tasting room. The wine, both whites and reds, is p...  more »
  • My family and I made this our first stop from SF to Napa. The parking is just a dirt area, which lowered our expectations of the vineyard. We opted for just wine tasting so skipped on tours. We got th...  more »
  • We went to Gundlach Bundschau Winery. It was started in 1870 and is the 64th winery started in California. The grounds of this winery are very nice. There is picnic areas, murals, and hiking trails. T...  more »

  • Had an amazing experience on the "Dirt to Bottle" tour. It was very fun and informative and our tour guide was the best. It felt like a very personal experience and was the perfect choice for our trip. She even recommended another vineyard we should visit since we are huge fans of Moscato. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. Highly suggest everyone visit
  • Stopped in for the vineyard tour. You climb on in to an old swiss army vehicle and drive around the vineyards. This is accompanied by some wine and cheese tasting. The tour is given by one of the Owners and a descendant of the founder. Great tour! I highly recommend taking this tour. Beautiful place. Regarding the wines, these are some of the best wines I have had that are within a price range of the average person. Not pretentious, and a very welcoming experience.
  • Very busy winery with good reason. All their wines, mostly reds, were excellent, with favorites being the tempranillo, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon. The vintage reserve was pretty amazing too, but at a very steep price. The grounds are beautiful, and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Top notch Sonoma winery!
  • One of the oldest wineries in the area and such a tranquil and lovely place. Love how they have tried to keep the area, although it's become touristy. Would definitely recommend calling in advance to get a tasting on the outside patio (reservations only) otherwise they have a few standing spots inside or a pop-up bar on the outside where you can have wine by the glass and walk around the grounds.
  • Super nice! We had some wine in a very pleasant place, very good

Where to stay in Sonoma

Prices for accommodations in Sonoma are often high. The hotels on or near the town square offer an unbeatable location for experiencing the city's many cultural delights, but you'll pay extra for the convenience. Properties located farther out are more economical and quiet, and provide easy access to Sonoma's stunning countryside. If you are planning a longer holiday, consider booking a vacation rental that feels like a home away from home.
