4.4/5 based on 25+ reviews on the web
The Carneros Brewing Company is one of only three Latino-owned breweries in the United States out of about 2,500. The microbrewery was founded by brothers Jesus, Pedro, Armando and Manuel Ceja and their families. They are Mexican-American immigrants from the states of Michoacán and Jalisco.

The company produces handcrafted Jefeweizen, Morena Ale, Cerveza Pilsner, Carneros IPA and Negra IPA using the best ingredients and the hops grown at the brewery in Sonoma. The Carneros Brewing Company invites you to visit the brewery and taproom to sample their refreshing brews. The adjacent sprawling beer garden around the pond is also great for picnics and offers lovely views of the Carneros countryside.

  • Went for a quick beer tasting and we loved it! Waayy better beer than Russian River and Laganista. Sit outside by the pond and relax.
  • They had shuffleboard and a bean bag toss to enjoy while visiting. Additionally, I liked seeing the bottling system up close - it was there to see and walk around and check out. It was really neat to see how it all works!
  • Unfortunately, I have to rate brewery a 3. They are extreme with their malt, specifically their Caramel malt. It's overwhelming in most of their beers. Out of the 10 some odd beers on tap, at least 6 are malt heavy. It's strange. Even their IPAs have heavy malt in them. Disappointed. Beautiful venue though.
  • The sour beer was wonderful. The other beers lacked for me something that I couldn't quite put my finger on, it was like they were too... clean. They didn't have the character or depth of flavor, complexity, and lingering finish that I love in many craft beers. The aromas were wonderful, and some were very creative (blueberry extra pale) but there was no punch. Even the heavier bodied Doble IPA didn't strike me as something made with extra love. I like my beers to have a home cooked character; I want them to be an experience. A strong base with subtleties and uniqueness abound. I felt everything was subtle here. Except the barrel aged sour, that had everything I want in a beer. The service was awesome. I felt we had special attention and the bar keep even offered the history and of the place and its owners. Each batch is seven barrels, so expect great turnover here. I will visit again sometime, I feel it's definitely worth a second try.
  • I kick myself in the butt every day for not bringing home a growler. Killer beer guys, keep up the good work. I for one do NOT like dark beers and that black Chocolate-Coffee beer you made was the bombčŹ║Cheers
  • Great place to stop and take a little breather from all the wine tasting with a decent beer lol. Decent selection of house beers and drafts and great friendly service. Small selection of crackers, cheeses and meats in case a snack is in order!
