Vintage theatres are so hard to find. The acoustics for concerts, and the fact that they are the only theater around that can protect 70mm films.. Davis square theater has it all. Beer on tap, great p... read more »

This is a great place to see a movie or a show -- they usually have a great selection of movies, and they serve beer.
Has the old movie theater feel which can be good but seating and screen size in some of the theaters can seem a bit lack luster. Also had an experience where I asked for a 7:30 showing and was given tickets for a later showing (buying the tickets 1.5 hours in advance knowing the show would sell out) when we got back to the theater after grabbing some good before the showing and walked in and got our tickets ripped and sat down in the theater is when I realized they have me tickets for the showing at 9:45 which I wasn't going to wait around for. It was still half an hour before the event and I decided to go let them know so they would know to switch the tickets and didn't overbook the theater. When I told them what happened they told me the movie was sold out and that was why I was given 9:45 tickets. I explained I bought the tickets over an hour ago and they still just told me there was nothing they could do but give me a refund for my ticket since it was sold out. Disappointing after waiting for the movie for 1.5 hours and showing up first to the theater and getting the best seats before being told we couldn't even see the movie.
My favorite movie theater for new releases, perfect for a date with my lady. Dinner and drinks in Davis, then a movie here, a cocktail or a coffee afterwards down the street. We also rented the micro-theater for our son's birthday party and it was a fantastic experience for the kids. You can bring a DVD or Blu-Ray for your own private screening, and we brought in pizza as well.
A friendly neighborhood movie theater. They show popular movies as well as old ones. Concessions are excellent, and you can request genuine melted butter on your popcorn. It's like a dream movie theater in real life – a gem of Davis Square. Movies actually start at their advertised time, not 20 minutes after with more ads like most.
Great local theatre for movies and more! There's always something weird and interesting going on there. I highly recommend stopping by unannounced.
Great location, tasty snacks, and you can drink beer and wine in the theater, like a civilised feckin' person!
