  • No more 777, but they still have Double Down Syrah and several other great wines! Been visiting here for over 15 years.
  • The area is very nice with beautiful vineyards surrounding the tasting area. Nice gazebo outside to relax, have picnic and taste wine. Good quality wines and a good amount to taste for the fee. Large ...  read more »
  • We had an excellent wine tasting at Blackjack today. Very generous tasting of 10 wines and very friendly lady helping us. Would recommend.
  • Tasted wine here. It cost $8. It was almost closing time, so rushed us through the tasting. Wines tasted very average. I think syrah was better. We didn't buy any.
  • I loved Blackjack Winery. I have tasted and visited many many wineries throughout California from Napa to Monterey to Murphys to Paso Robles to Santa Barabara. I enjoyed Blackjack wine so much I became a member. The gals that pour do a great job in knowing their wine and what it goes well with. I have learned a lot by visiting Blackjack about wine.
  • I've been to BlackJack twice, and the experiences were different. Try to select a non-peak time for a more relaxing visit. While visiting family in the north county area, I insisted on heading over to Solvang to sample some of the local wares. We visited several wineries, but a couple of them stood out for me. My venture had nothing to do with seeing a movie. Most of the places we checked were not in the movie. Blackjack Ranch stood out because I'm a sucker for Syrah, and I had heard about the Maximus and Double Down Syrah they make. Upon entering the tasting/sales room, I was greeted by some very friendly folks, eager to help me learn about their products. I chose to partake in the tastings of most of the reds they offer, and was very impressed. After arriving back home, 4 states away, I knew that I had to get on their mailing list, and decided to sign up for their wine club. Over the next few years, I received, tasted, and shelved several bottles of many different varietals and blends. A couple of weeks ago, I cracked open a dusty bottle of 2006 Allusion that I stashed away when it was first released, and I couldn’t have been happier with my patience. This nine-year old bottle was quite a pleasant surprise. Some of the best, old reds I have put away from that region. The products sold at Blackjack Ranch are priced comparably to other good vineyards in that area, and well worth the money. Easily as good as many of the comparable Napa reds, which cost twice as much! Enjoy.
  • If you're a fan of the movie sideways this is a fun winery to check out. Didn't love eveything we tasted but there were a few things that stood out like the double down Syrah. We found the service was suitable and the prices weren't too crazy as far as small boutique wineries go. Overall we enjoyed our time at Blackjack and had a fun looking at the Sideways Memorialbilia.
  • This is by far and away the worst winery I have tasted at in California. Just because your dumb winery was in a movie doesn't mean you can make good wine. Besides serving wine in a shot glass kinda ruins the experience. Also, one more thing learn how to smile ore.mmeone
