  • I was looking to ski in Utah - easy flight in and easy drive to the slopes. I didn't really want the crowds, cost and commercialism of Park City - and the "expensive and uppity" feel of Park City or D...  more »
  • Lot of great downhill skiing and vertical drop. Great price of a day pass on Liftopia. Had a great day spring skiing. Make sure to go to the top for the long runs and great scenery.  more »
  • Easy drive from Park City and even easier from SLC. Prices and snow better than Park City. Lifts have been upgraded and they service great runs on a variety of terrain. Ate lunch at the little village...  more »

  • I've been coming here for many years. First off, love the mountain. The terrain is great, staff is always friendly, and the amenities have improved greatly over the years. Food is now great, especially for a ski resort, and the resort is hardly ever crowded. My favorite resort hands down, would recommend to anyone.
  • For a small mountain, it was great! It's a little "older" - the bathroom stalls are TINY and you can't hang your coat or anything outside of the stall. I would say that's my biggest gripe. However, 1) there are lots of varied runs, 2) the staff is friendly and helpful, 3) the cafeteria had yummy curry and POUTINE. (The veggie + rice noodle soup was terrible. Don't get that. And the chicken pot pie was good but the crust on top was sad and soft.)
  • Great skiing! It's a bit steeper than Brighton but not overly so - there's plenty of intermediate terrain here. The parking lot is also a bit smaller than Brighton and can fill up really fast. Plenty of great tree skiing opportunities. Somewhat like the name implies it's not very crowded here, even when the parking lot is full.
  • The skiing was great, parking not so much. Our options were to park over a mile up the road, which we did not want to do, or prowl the parking lot. We opted for the second option, and it took an hour to find a spot. Once we were on the mountain we had a great time. Snow was good, lift lines were short, stoke was high.
  • I hadn't been to Solitude for many years so I decided to take my family there today for a day of skiing. The rental shop was clean, orderly and very efficient. The equipment was new, fine tuned and in great shape. The staff were pleasant, quick and very helpful. Even though it was Christmas Eve and they probably would have liked to be at home with their families, all of the lift operators happily greeted us each time we boarded the lifts and wished us a good run. The staff at the cafe where we ate our lunch were just as pleasant and friendly as everyone else we met. The food was very good too. In short, the service I received today made me feel like I was in Disneyland being served by their cast members. Since I'm a local, I like to go to all of the resorts. I have been skiing for over 40 years. The staff at Solitude today made me feel like a valued customer more than any other resort I have ever been to. Thank you, I'll be back more often!
