The Sodus Bay Historical Society operates a local history museum in the Sodus Bay Lighthouse, which was built in 1870. Exhibitions include lighthouse tools, Fresnel lenses, maritime artifacts, ship models, railroads and trolleys, and a commemoration of the War of 1812 Battle of Sodus Point. Visitors can climb the lighthouse tower, enjoy beautiful gardens, and shop for unique gifts. The grounds are available for weddings. Quaint lighthouse with pretty grounds and lovely view of Lake Ontario. Gift shop employees were most helpful and super friendly.
Spent one night in Sodus Bay. Cool place, would come back someday. The Sodus Bay Lighthouse has a lot of history & great view of Lake Ontario.
Came here for a wedding. wonderful views of the bay and the lake. worth a look see for the history and vibe of the grounds and property.
It's a very nice historical museum. Offering tours and has interactive set ups. The gift shop offers lots of nice clothing and authentic candy!
Staff are great, answered every question that you had. Gift shop not to expensive and fun for family !
History abounds! From the late 1700's to the mid 1970's. A must see! Excellent summer concert series from July 4th through Labor Day weekend.
