  • I Love This Place! Take The Tour! A Must See! I make it a point to visit the Sodus Bay Lighthouse & Museum every year I go up to Upstate NY! The lighthouse/museum staff are very friendly and informative. You learn about various historical facts and events like the life of the lighthouse keeper then and now, the town, the war of 1812 and so on. You'll see ships navigation tools, tools to run a lighthouse, the "footprint" of the original lighthouse, etc. The best part is climbing up the spiral staircase to see the actual light and look out to see Lake Ontario, Sodus Bay, the Active Lighthouse and Chimney Bluffs ❤
  • definitely worth the stop. we had a wonderful tour guide and it was a very nice collection. just enough stuff to see and read about without being overwhelmed. plus an excellent photo op/view from the top.
  • Get a really awesome view of the town from the top of the light house. You can learn a bunch of history of Sodus Point from the museum. So many interesting items in the collection; from the War of 1812, maritime artifacts from various eras, and other items from the town's history. During the summer, there's concerts on Sunday afternoons with live music. One of my favorite spots in the world!
  • Beautiful grounds..very well maintained! The free concerts are always excellent and the refreshments for sale are a nice treat! And of course, the lake views let you dream you are in the Caribbean!!
  • When I was a teenager. I used to babysit there. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Just love going there.
