  • I like this trail, but there are some areas that look unsafe, especially around dusk and dark. I suggest going with a friend.  more »

  • Great trail made entirely of blacktop. It's the flatest trail I've ever been on and seems to be very well maintained. Both the road being completely free of any holes to the area being free of trash, the area was very nice. There are a few areas that cross traffic as well. Throughout the portion I've drove on so far, you are in the woods throughout most of your ride, and mostly in the shade. Great trail that I'll be riding often. Can't wait to make it to the end of the trail in the near future!
  • Very nice paved trail with bathrooms and water stations along the way. The section near this head is very busy on the weekends and after work hours during the summer. I'd advise moving further west if you're looking for a fast paced bike ride.
  • Nice trail for a bike ride. Whether you're trying to train long distance or just relax with family, it's a great bike path.
  • I feel so lucky to have something like this in my town. It stretches from Smyrna (there's a connector trail that goes from Cumberland mall to the trail head). At the Alabama border the exact same trail changes name to the Chief Ladiga trail and continues to Anniston. Both are very easy, mildly graded, bike friendly rail-to-trail. There is a stretch west of Rockmart that is not rail-to-trail and includes a few hills. It is still not a huge challenge. I did the entire thing in three days, starting in Anniston, sleeping at the Chief Ladiga campground in Piedmont, AL the first night. Second night at The Rock campground in Rockmart, GA. I am a in average shape and not a fanatic biker. I did have a trailer attached to my bike, which slowed me down. Averaged about 8-10 MPH. The prettiest part, in my opinion, was in Eastern Alabama, just before the campground in the Talladega National Forest. There was also a really cool tunnel maybe 20 miles west of Hiram.
  • Great trail. Lots of motivated people. Beautiful scenery.
