(4.8/5 based on 110 reviews on the web)
Located in the heart of downtown Smithfield, Windsor Castle Park is a 208-acre riverside park. Dedicated in May of 2010, the park features a woodland trail system, picnic and open area space, a dog park, kayak/canoe launch, fishing pier, mountain bike path, scenic overlooks and the historic manor house --

Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle Farm was orginally part of a 1450 acre parcel patented in 1637 by Arthur Smith, an ancestor of the town's founder,

Arthur Smith IV.

The purchase of land for the creation of this park was made possible through the generous contribution of Mr. Joseph W. Luter, III, founder and former CEO of Smithfield Foods.

  • Great place to take the kids to play and get exercise. Lots of open area for them to run around
  • Was pleasantly surprised by this park! We put in at the kayak ramp and it was very well maintained and easy to use. Beautiful grounds and lots of activities to choose from!
  • Incredibly beautiful park lovely walking trails for miles and my personal favorite the bike paths which are wonderful but could be more plentiful oh and the dog park as well very nice as well as picnic tables set up all around the park
  • Windsor Castle Park makes me smile just to think about it! Everyone i know loves to go there, whether to walk, run, kayak, have a wedding or just be out in a great green space, especially when there is a wine fest there. Thank you Joe Luter and everyone else who had a part in creating this fabulous place for locals and visitors alike. Windsor Castle Park is a winner and makes all of us SMILE!
  • Great for kayakers. They have a boat ramp specifically designed for launching kayaks. Lots of options for where to paddle. The park was clean and inviting. Highly recommend for a nice day trip on a sunny day.
