  • Fascinating museum! We were on a family history hunt and found some excellent references among the history of the area. Nice little shop too! The pigs everywhere are adorable.

  • Good insights into this area's history. A museum that doesn't take all day to see the exhibits. Only "down side" was seeing some articles from our youth (e.g. rollerskates, electric coffee pot) on dis...  more »

  • What a treasure !!! located on Main Street in Smithfield Virginia. Well-appointed, clean, helpful staff ,and educational; it really should not be overlooked. After all Where else can you find a 126 year old peanut and a 90 year old "pet" ham. ?
  • Packs so much history in about the area. You can see things from the oldest ham to the oldest peanut! I led a group of kids during a Vacation Bible School program through this museum, and there was something for everyone!
  • Interesting museum filled with the history of both the county area and the meat industry that grew up around it. My two small kids had fun as they have some hands on stuff for them to do.
  • I like ham.
