Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web
Home of John D. Rockefeller--once the richest man in America-- Kykuit features a collection of sculptures and landscaped gardens, maintained for over 100 years. The 40-room house and estate, spread over 1,380 hectares (3,410 acres), once had its own food supplies, gardeners, laborers, and security officers. The property once contained 75 houses and 70 private roads. Take one of several guided tours to see the six-story house. You'll discover underground art galleries with a collection of Picasso tapestries. Outside, expansive terraced spaces contain world-renowned 20th-century sculptures and fountains amidst valleys, and ponds. Most tours are more than two hours long, which includes a shuttle bus ride to and from the estate. Kykuit is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Sleepy Hollow Edition.
