  • Awesome collection of artifacts from Alaska. Well laid out with lots of info about the displays.
  • If you are touring Sitka, do not miss this museum. Our tour with Fantasy Cruises brought us here, and I bought the coziest, most beautiful beaded Athabascan slippers made of caribou hide with, seal and beaver trim. One of the artists was on hand the day we visited. There were inumerable carvings, jewelry, art and crafts to purchase - every item unique. The museum store clerk wrote the name and village of the slipper maker on our receipt. This museum turned out to be the source of the most authentic art and craft we saw on our whole cruise.
