  • Falls Park is an attractive open space in the center of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is named for the large waterfalls flowing through the park. There are the ruins of an old flour mill and a gift shop with a viewing tower. It is a great location for exercising outdoors, meditating in nature, or making art. One should be careful. The falls are dramatic and I would be surprised if there were not regular injuries here. Pay close attention to any children.
  • Beautiful, historic, and organic. It's like stepping back in time. The scenery is breathtaking and the history fascinating. A great place to spend an afternoon or evening and enjoy the nature. Bring a camera, a pair comfortable shoes, and simply relax. The Big Sioux River is robust and gorgeous.
  • Very beautiful area to go and see. It is free and you could spend some time there reading historic information. The look-out tower was very neat and the gift shop is nice. We found cheap t-shirts at good prices. I would definitely recommend going here if you have the chance!
  • Beautiful park. Really pretty waterfalls. The park is well maintained with pretty grass and rocks and shady spots. Nice overlooks. We were there for an hour and a half along the river bank, could've easily spent another hour or 2 there, but we had to keep moving. We got to see some fish jumping the little fall.
  • Well, it's five stars compared to other sites here. They've done an amazing job of developing Falls Park since I first remember going, which seems very appropriate for the namesake of your city! The sidewalks, overlooks, and ability to free-roam still are what make the park something special for everyone. The gift shop and observation tower are very nice also. The winter lights are amazing! In the summer, it's also well-lit on the lower falls at night, but I look forward to more development of the upper falls. It is buggy, from late May through September, so plan for that, and please, please watch your kids and make sure that even the older ones understand the power of that raging water!
