  • This is an easy family & dog friendly hike with great views and a beautiful tower to climb as the rewards! The hike is only about a mile up from the trail head parking area. The first third or so of t...  more »
  • I read the review of the trail up to the top here and elsewhere, and was honestly kind of concerned that I'd be literally rock climbing. My fears were unfounded. The first thousand feet or so of the t...  more »
  • Follow GPM address on their website. We did not and ended up in someone backyard. The park is very nice and well kept. Short walk to the top of the mountains allows for a beautiful view over Connectic...  more »
  • Beautiful hike. Not very strenuous (I'm an endurance athlete, 30+ miles per week running, 100+ cycling), but fun. The historic house at the top was also informative, and the view was fantastic! The glass walls let you see off in every direction for miles, and we went up on a clear afternoon.
  • Nice hiking trail! My husband and I love this place! Steep ascent to Heublein tower! If you love hiking itโ€™s fun! And the view is amazing ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • Great hike to the top of the mountain and tower. The hike is a pretty easy 3 mile (round trip) with only the first .75 mile upwards. Kids 5+ can do it no problem. Several other trails intersect in the woods making it fun for the adventurous as well. The view of the area is always picturesque.
  • It's an alright spot for a decent view. Over hiked in my opinion. Go across the street and go up penwood you'll get a better view and will be able to see the talcott tower from over there. That hike is 4 miles RT though! The good thing about talcott is that it's a short hike up from the northern parking lot. Go from Hartford reservoir for a longer hike
  • This is an easy hike. The views are nice, but you may feel rushed to take them in because there are a lot of people here. It's a nice hike without needing to travel far from the Hartford area.
