  • Fantastic park, grounds are beautiful! Super weekend to go and definitely hope to go back. Super trails, beautiful water, great playgrounds for younger kids. Everything you need while camping!
  • This park has a nice campground, if you pick a lake view lot, your water faucet is located up high on the back of your deck. The black handle makes it hard to notice. We almost went to buy another hos...  more »

  • The primitive campground SUCKS. The campsites are all bunched up, right on top of each other. I could practically spit and hit the family next to us. I went camping to get away from it all and for some peace and quiet and sounds of nature all around. What I got was 0 privacy, sleeping on gravel (ow?) instead of normal dirt, screaming/squealing children absolutely everywhere. Also, they make you use treated firewood and the firewood we bought there WOULD NOT BURN. I'm pretty sure a serial arsonist could not have gotten this wood to actually catch on fire. After probably an hour of trying everything, we even left and bought fire starters, and all the wood would do was get hot and charred, so yeah there went our hot dog and marshmallow roasting plans. I don't know what they did to it when they "treated" it but it was the worst firewood I've ever seen... P.S. Don't bother climbing up to the top of the observation tower, it's lame.
  • I camped on some of the primitive sites for a couple of nights with a group of friends. There was a short walk down to our sites--numbers 2P, 3P, and 4P--down a leafy, root-covered hill. Those sites were the closest to the parking lot, which means further from the lake, but I recommend them if hauling your gear down a steep hill doesn't sound like your cup of tea. The lady manning the camp store was friendly and helpful, pulling out a map and highlighting routes any time you asked where something was. The very clean bathrooms are a short, somewhat hilly walk from the sites, which wasn't the most convenient, and the bathhouse with showers was twice as far. The drive-in are much closer to the bathrooms, if this is an issue. The primitive campsites are spread out a good distance, and the lake is visible through the trees. We didn't do much hiking this trip, so I can't comment on that, but the camping was really pleasant! A great little park.
  • Great campground we stayed on site #40 had a beautiful Lake view. Camphost Millie got us checked in very quickly an camphost Janet showed us our site an made sure to show us closet bathhouse.. These ladies were very helpful in letting us know about things to do in an around Park. These camphost made our stay wonderful. We will definitely recommend this campground an would stay again if in the area.. We would recommend the sunset cruise it was great.
