  • Not a good hiking place. Not very good picnic area. The observation tower was the highlight of the trip  more »
  • Very nice scenery. The long winding road getting to the reservoir and our campground was a little treacherous driving with our big rig but presented beautiful vistas. We stayed at the Long Branch camp...  more »
  • Stayed in a park cabin and it was nicer than I could have imagined and at that price, it was amazing.  more »
  • Love it The Ranger was really friendly and helpful they had a lighting of the fire tower with Christmas light Girl Scout were there to help with refreshments and a campfire. I go hiking on 2 mile trail. 👣 Fun for the whole family.
  • I stayed in the primitive camping area. I had only one other camper at the opposite side of primitive camping area. So it was quiet and relatively private. However that would change dramatically if the park were full. The terrain is beautiful and the area is fairly upscale. The bathroom facilities are clean and modern enough. I stay at many state parks and this is among the best.
  • We visited for the eclipse in the park event, and the day before. The park was adequately prepared for the unusually high number of visitors for a Monday morning with additional trash and sanitary facilities at designated locations. The park was beautiful on the day use peninsula. Beware the poison around the shoreline in the brush. There are plentiful fossils to view in the limestone blocks along the shore and boat launch areas.
  • I have been to this park multiple times as of recent, it is simple amazing. I just love the amount of seclusion you are afforded in almost the entire park. I have rented Cabins at this location from the park about 4 times for a variety of occasions to include a family reunion, New Year’s celebration party, and an army reunion. The amenities afforded to the guests are just next level for something in this price range. There is a very deep pool right behind the cabins, a burning pit with 6 swinging benches, courtesy docks right down from the cabins, and built-in grills for cooking. The cabins come stocked with all cooking and dining wear you could possibly need. The serenity you’ll get from your visit will far outweigh the associated rental cost.
  • Interesting campsites - it was my first trip to Edgar Evins. No complaints at all. I had thought about bringing a bike to travel between the different areas but I'm glad I didn't. The terrain is very steep, and I'm a mountain biker. I hear the restaurant is good but I didn't visit. The patrols through the campground seem to keep noise at a minimum but don't interfere with the fun. Be aware that my buddy parked his boat in the proper area and someone ended up going through it overnight. Nothing was missing but nothing of value was left in it. This area is at the camp store and is within a stones throw of the campground. Finally, the elevated "campsites" are a hoot. I'll be back.
