Siesta Beach, Siesta Key

4.6
Noted for its wide stretch of white sand, Siesta Beach is lapped by the calm Gulf of Mexico waters. Located just minutes from Sarasota, the beach features public restrooms, snack bars, picnic shelters, gazebos, volleyball courts, and showers. The powdery sand never gets too hot for a walk, so you can intersperse your dips in the gentle waves with long walks along the water's edge. Lifeguards patrol the beach all year, every day of the week, making this one of the safest spots for visitors of all ages and swimming abilities. Parking can become a challenge as the day goes on. Put Siesta Beach into our Siesta Key holiday website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The beach was beautiful. We took a day trip to the Gulf since we usually go to Cocoa and Sadly it rained the whole day we were there but I can see now why it is considered a #1 beach! It was so clean ...  more »
  • Gorgeous beach with powdery sand--- but parking fills up in early a.m. and the beach is very over crowed. There isn't any 'season' anymore. It is always packed.  more »
  • We rode to the beach at about 10 AM to see this beach that is so popular. Waited in horrible traffic for about an hour and couldn’t get a parking space. No overflow parking provisions so if you are no...  more »

  • This is a very nice beach. Beautiful white sands and well maintained. There's plenty of parking and the beach is just a short walk from your car. The water is nice and not too rough. There's lifeguards here too and they do a great job. We have spent countless hours here and is one of our favourite spots.
  • A VERY nice beach to chill for a day! It is very crowded, but there are reasons for it! The sands are really soft and very well kept, and the water is very clear and clean relative to other beaches. The atmosphere is very chill and stress-free, which is what I loved about it! If I were to come back to Florida, I would definitely make the effort to come back here, because the experience was amazing!
  • Parking is a B, if the municipal lot is full, drive down some of the side streets where the locals park. That’s where we found parking. The beach itself was beautiful! White sugar sand and clear water. The shells were good, but I expected a wider variety. Super clean where we were, and north of the municipal lots was not too crowded.
  • Really pretty with the super white sand! It also doesn't get real hot so it's not too tough walking the long way to the water. Large free parking lot which was appreciated!
  • One of the best beaches to go shelling. Located on the Bay Side of Florida, this location is perfect for families, couples and even weddings. I recall a while back shooting a wedding right on the beach and the venue turned out to be perfect!
