  • Remington, Russell - it's a lovely setting (walk through the gardens). It's in a lovely area of Shreveport. Exit I-49 at Pierremont and go east about 1/2 mile, then left on Creswell. one block north.  more »
  • Lived here most of my life and only been here twice. This is truly a hidden gem! So many beautiful paintings and so very beautiful walking paths especially in the spring when the flowers are in bloom....  more »

  • This place is the most beloved place for us in Shreveport. We enjoy to come here very often to see a Garden, to walk in park, to observe nature . And of course, we love the Art Gallery too . There are masterpieces by Edward Szmyd, Loren Adams, Peter Ellenshaw and so on. Thank to founders and the staff who give to us so much pleasure and joy ! PS. if it would be possible to mark 100 stars, I would do it)) This place is beautiful and different every time! Especially in spring.
  • It's a beautiful hidden treasure of a museum. If possible, do everything you can to make it to their annual Night at the Museum.
  • I had a very memorable experience here. The grounds are beautiful, and the artwork is worth a look.
  • So first off, this isn't the Louvre or Vatican or Getty Museum. It's Shreveport, Louisiana. In that context I give it five stars. I prepared my wife and kids that we could probably just swing through and see the entire collection in 15-30 minutes. I was guessing they would have a minor work by one or two major artists and a lot of regional stuff. We had to rush to make it through in 1:15, skipping a couple galleries and skimming others. Boy was I surprised. This museum has probably a dozen galleries along a linear layout in a beautiful, lush garden setting. It's heavy on American Westerns and Western Expansion landscapes. They have pretty solid examples of Bierstadt and Remington, along with some stunning landscapes from artists I wasn't familiar with. The European wing has a single Cassat and a few small Rodins, as well as a smattering of other interesting works. They also have a lot of random collections like firearms, art from children's storybooks, and French and American poster art. There's something here to delight every taste and some significant examples from some significant artists. Definitely worth a detour a few minutes off the Interstate for this regional jewel.
  • They have a great collection of flowers and walking trails. Also if you Ingress they have a ton of portals!! It's been a while since I have been inside to see the art but when I was there it was very interesting.
