The spectacular Gardens of the American Rose Center,located on a 118-acre wooded tract in Shreveport,Louisiana,and is home to the national headquarters of the American Rose Society. It is the nation’s largest park dedicated to roses!

The gardens were dedicated in 1974 when the American Rose Society headquarters moved to Shreveport,Louisiana from Columbus,Ohio. Today,the American Rose Center features more than 65 individual rose gardens and 20,000 rosebushes,with a variety of companion plants,sculptures and fountains.

  • There was no entrance fee, only a donation. The visitor center was closed. Before that were still sufficient to see roses. For the rest they were working on preparing for Christmas. We have a circular and they left.

  • Beautiful grounds and a pleasure to take a quite walk when weather is cooler. During holidays they offer programs during the weeks prior to new year and it is family centered. Very nice. 
  • The Rose Center is located in West Shreveport but the trip is very worthwhile. Beautiful gardens. Beautiful roses. Always fun place to visit.
