  • I live in North Shirley and I go to Smith Point often. During the summer, I go early in the AM or after 4:30 so I don't have to pay $16 to park. I park on the west side of parking lot and go by the ra...  read more »
  • The beach is beautiful. Disappointed in closing the outer beach for the piping plovers, especially when paying for an outer beach pass. The campground should be run better. Very difficult to make rese...  read more »
  • The beach here is part of a National Seashore and has a presence of the National Park Service and Suffolk County Parks. The beach is sufficiently wide and clean. Water was not so cold that bathing was...  read more »
  • If you are looking for a great beach day, you've found your ideal place. They offer tailgating on the sand (with a pass) as well as just simply walking onto the beach. The Park Police Department is right behind you while on the beach and is easy to go to in the event of an emergency. Lifeguards are constantly training and working to the best ability. There is also a gift shop as well as a few places to eat. Although it may get crowded in the food area it is worth eating on the beach. They hold many concerts here too and it is the best place to take your family while on vacation or enjoying the life of a Long Islander.
  • Beach erosion has taken its toll. Wildlife appears diseased and infested by bugs. Park Rangers really need to protect the environment more with less focus on enforcing authority. Camping area needs to expand and village parks across the way needs major upkeep in order to prevent an eyesore. There's no way any funding from overpriced parking fees go into improving its own park property.
  • Beach is amazing. Food prices aren't outrages and they give you good portions. Wish parking wasn't $16, but it's Such a nicer and cleaner beach than Robert Moses and Jones beach.
  • what can I say...Sun, Sand and blue skys LOL Even when it is stormy it is a fabulous spot to watch the storm. The lifeguards are attentive and constantly watching, felt safe with the family.
  • Love Smith Beach! It's my favorite whenever I visit Long Island. Campground is great and quiet. Lots of deer and other wildlife around. Sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous here!!
