  • Skyland is a fantastic nature getaway with many trails within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable and many feature a TV. Dining is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve quality dishes, including some local delicacies. Check-in is quick and easy, and the staff is very friendly. Many of the employees have worked there for years, and therefore are adept at performing their duties. Highly recommended.
  • Beautiful location and drive through Skyline Drive to get to the resort. The main area has a dining hall, taproom and coffee shop. I only sampled the dining room. We had dinner there after a long hike. I had the pot roast which was amazing, and my boyfriend had the mushroom sandwich which he also enjoyed. That night we went to our "Premium Room". Very nicely remodeled, with wood floors, big screen TV and great view of the mountains. However the major downside. It quickly became apparent that there is almost no sound insulation between rooms. We could clearly hear every conversation that occured, as well as other activities. I didn't sleep well at all because I could hear everything from the next rooms. The next morning we did the breakfast buffet which was lackluster and tasted like something you would get at a cheap motel. On the way out we got some nice things from a very well done gift shop. Overall I would say it's a nice place for the scenery and views, but the complete lack of privacy and quiet in the rooms is not worth two hundred a nice night.
  • What a wonderful experience we have at Skyland. We will definitely be back! The room we have is clean and comes with an amazing view. But what made our stay extra special is the customer service. I would like to say thank you to Jennifer who changed our room to a pet friendly room to accommodate my two babies Kiko and Lola on a last minute requests (the night before we checked in). They accommodated us even though the place was fully booked! Then since we brought our dogs last minute we didn't planned not to be able to hike before check in at 3pm, again, Kathy at the front desk did her magic and got us in to our room so we can get our pets comfortable. I also would like to say thank you to the male front desk who checked us in but I didn't get he's name. Then it doesn't stop there, we wanted to make sandwiches for our hike and a guy named Earl at the grab n go was so nice to give us some sandwich bags since we forgot ours. I have to say, we are normally much more organized and prepared when we plan a trip and not normally high maintenance and as needy but this trip started a little iffy but all that was changed as soon as we arrived at Skyland. The people who works there made our trip perfect and extra special! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
  • Pretty view, and the only chance to grab a drink or a snack along Skyline Drive. Pretty little restaurant mixed with a rest stop at the highest point along Shenandoah's Skyline Drive. Flanked by many overlooks along the road. Lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, gift shop, and coffee shop in a rustic log building.
  • Just loved the place. Will go back again. Nice and clean. Delicious food, friendly staff. 100% recommended.
