  • least via the route we took from Dark Hollow Falls. Lots of rocks and big tree roots to get over. And, a good uphill climb to the Skyline Drive. And, it being the Sunday of Labor...  more »
  • We loved this hike. Has everything a hiker would enjoy. Nature, waterfalls, wildlife, and a great trail. Not difficult and under the canopies of high trees makes it suitable for summer and rainy days....  more »
  • The Rose River Falls trail, with its trailhead at mile 49.4 of Skyline Drive, can be hiked as the more common 4-mile (6.4k) loop trail with a 910-foot (277m) elevation gain or a shorter, out and...  more »
  • The waterfall itself is about 20 feet high i suppose, but dont expect to walk right up to it, you can get close but it's very rocky near the base. Its located on the Rose River Loop Trail. A little hilly but overall smooth... til the fall that is. After that the rest of the loop trail is quite a bit more uneven and rocky. And don't be fooled by the signage, the whole loop is a lot more than 1.2 miles. I'd say that's just to the big waterfall, then it goes at least double that getting back. An awesome hike though, towards the end of the loop you'll come to Dark Hallow Falls, an impressive set of cascade falls, before the smooth gravel path back to the road. I highly recommend this loop trail. Better plan on a few hours if you take photos or stop much.
  • Waterfalls typically are impacted by rain totals. That being said we were fortunate to see them when they were impressive. A great loop hike, about 3.5-4 hrs (trail was empty). On the loop hike you will follow the river all the way to the gravel road. It was glorious! You can then continue uphill to another waterfall.
  • Great time.
