  • Finally went over to see this on Rochester Road. Very limited parking and NO birds. It appears that they have abandoned the area and moved on.  more »
  • I noticed the great blue heron rookery for the first time this year. There were about eight nests in the huge tree in the middle of the wetlands. So the nests are noticable when driving on Ryan. Just....  more »
  • I have walked in this area twice now. once in the evening with a scout troop and once in the day with my family. There are many trails that wind all around the rookery.  more »

  • Nice stopping place. There is a long trail that has several "outlets". This is more of a hiking walking trail than a park like setting. I didn't stay long, but it was a nice break. There are no benches or seating. I walked for a bit and checked out the big birch tree. The pond I saw was very big and very peaceful. Great place for nature photos .
  • Great walking/biking trails, nice little ponds to fish, skip rocks or bird watch. Awesome hill almost dead center to have a picnic or grab a seat at a table under the pavilion if it starts raining. Perfect trees for a bit of recreational climbing (with proper climbing gear). Loads of wildlife from migratory birds and turtles to coyotes, deer, turkey, muskrats frogs and snakes. The main east/west trail takes you to Yates Cider Mill.
  • It was AWESOME. Very nice. Great Food
  • I almost don't want to post this review because this place is one of my favorite trail areas in michigan to get away from the chaos of hall road and destress. The only downside is theres a gun range nearby, so if you're cool with hearing gunshots in a beautiful myriad of trails, this place is perfect. Pro tip: wear headphones when you go. I love Holland ponds, every single season it brings me peace.
  • Such a beautiful path to walk. If you are brave enough to walk to distance, you can go all the way to Yates. Round trip is just over 3 miles.
