  • Canterbury Park has all the basics of a good horse track, so don't expect upscale or extras. They do a good job with the actual horses and racing, but the facilities are very sparse, dated and at times not clean. They have been partnering now with the casino up the street and most of that money is going towards the horses, but I'd really like to see their interior areas updated. The floors are peeling in some places, the furniture is classic 1985 in many areas, there are odd corners and curtains and overall a strange flow to some of the floors. They did update some areas over the winter, but not enough to make that overall impression. Again, the people that work there are nice and really do a great job with the horses and races, it's just the f/b operations and facility that gives this a OK rating.
  • For a place that has as much $ running through it as this place does, the bar/sports viewing experience is severely lacking. Tiny insignia tvs with poor reception, lackluster beer selection, service at 1 spot in the bar with signs posted basically saying "you can sit here but we won't come serve you." A couple near me wanted to watch a game on one of the 3 tvs that wasn't even on and she told them it was too hard for her to turn them on because she had to climb up and manually push a button? Get with the times, Canterbury. Spend a couple of those gambling dollars on your customers. Updated: sat through my 1 beer with the detritus of the previous customer on the bar in front of me. 1 bartender but not a busy bar. Pathetic.
  • Love Canterbury! I go almost every year to watch the races. I also do extra things like Warp Tour and Autocross. The parkinglots could be a bit better and need repaving but its still a great place to go for all sorts of entertainment!
  • Great Fun! It is great to have horse racing in Minnesota! It would be great if there were more variety of foods but what is there is very good and really inexpensive for this type of venue. Lots of parking and even if it rains the seating is comfortable.
  • We go a couple times a year as a family to watch the horse racing. It's a fun place and a cheap afternoon. It's even better if you win a race or two. They have a nice park for the kids to play on, and reasonable food options.
