The Apple Barn and Cider Mill, Sevierville

4.3
#3 of 11 in Shopping in Sevierville
Nestled in the Smoky Mountains and featuring an orchard of more than 4,000 apple trees, The Apple Barn and Cider Mill includes a winery, cider bar, creamery, candy factory, restaurant, and general store. Initially used for storing farm equipment and sheltering animals, the barn grew into a shop where you can browse through various country products. Visit the bar within the barn to sample apple ciders by the glass, try fried apple pies and apple stack cakes, or just have a coffee with ice cream on the side. Purchase homemade candies prepared on site, including chocolates, peanut brittle, and fudge. You also can check out the selection of fruit wines, such as apple-raspberry, apple-peach, and apple-strawberry. This is a must-stop for us on the way home. The fried apple pies are so good! They sell them in a 3 or 4 pack. They also have other products such as whole apple pies, muffins, and other bakery goods. ...  more »

I have been to this place twice and I have loved it each time. The grill restaurant has really good food and they serve awesome apple fritters. It is a best place to walk around too. There is a winery, candy shop, along with other things. Really it is a nice place to hang around for a little while. The shops are cool to check out. I love it.

Incredible food; great price to portion ratio! Best hot cider I've ever had. Absolutely incredible wine. I highly recommend doing a wine tasting. The guy who did mine was very helpful. I'm no wine expert by any means, and instead of letting me shoot the samples like a shot of tequila, he walked me through the tasting process and led me so I would be able to taste the wine properly which made all the difference. The ice cream is insanely good as well. I was also super shocked at how reasonable the prices in their general store were. I was expecting a really high markup, but they are very fair. Highly, highly recommend to anyone in the area!

It looks like a lot of people are putting reviews for the farmhouse restaurant under the cider mill's section -- this review is for the cider mill (I also reviewed the farmhouse, which I did not think highly of). The Cider Mill offers a very limited selection of food -- apple dumpling, apple pie, fried apple pie, apple cider, vanilla ice cream (mostly to make "a la mode" items, but they sell it separately as well) and a few other similar items (they serve desserts only). I've had several of the offerings, and they are all very good. I would consider this a must-see (or must-taste) stop in Pigeon Forge. There is an attached gift shop with three floors of apple-related goodies. They have apples and apple-based foods, as well as tons of apple-centric decorative items. The gift shop is charming, and I recommend taking a stroll as long as you are here.

Once you find this place of the main road, you will be glad you did. Complentary fresh apple fritters, apple butter & an apple Julip to start....YUM!! The apple fritters are Awesome!! Chicken fried steak was just a chicken breast but with the coating, it was delicious and very flavorful gravy. All the sides were very good, even the grits. Chico omelet was pretty good with lots of flavor. Definitely want to go back for the fritters.

Summary for the Apple Barn, all sections: Delicious homestyle breakfast food with complementary apple butter and apple muffins. A great selection of sweeter wines (we left with 3). They also have a quaint little bakery for a nice snack or take-away. It's a must-see place for anybody (couples, families, or individuals) in the Smoky Mountain area.
