Apple Barn Winery, Sevierville

#4 of 6 in Wineries in Sevier County
Winery / Vineyard Food & Drink
Free tastings and comfort food at a nearby restaurant make Apple Barn Winery a must-see in the Pigeon Forge region. The wine production area is too small to accommodate tour groups, but a viewing area with a glass wall allows a peek into the production area. Couple your viewing with a glass of the sweet, crisp apple wine that the winery is known for. If you prefer dry wines, try the selection of traditional wines that pair well with the savory dishes at the restaurant. Our Sevierville trip itinerary builder makes visiting Apple Barn Winery and other Sevierville attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • My husband & I went to visit this winery during our visit and we had a great experience! They offer 4 free wine samples and the wine is delicious. Morena was our pourer and she offered some great tips...  more »
  • Very nice place to eat. Need to go when you are hungry because it is a lot of food. Home cooking like your mom used to make. They do not offer call ahead seating. Enjoy the rocking chairs on the porch...  more »
  • I don't drink so this place does not appeal to me. But we do go to the adjoining restaurants. After a big meal we walk into the winery. It's always busy with people tasting the various wines. They all...  more »

  • This is the third stop for us on the wine trail. We are members of the wine club so we get to try all the wines on the list. We also make our own wine and like to find a flavor that we like to try and duplicate, so ALL wineries will get a minimum of 4 stars from me. They have dry, semi sweet, sweet, and a frozen mix to choose from. I think they can only let you have 6 samples per person so choose your samples based on your pallet preference. I'm not an apple wine guy but my wife likes the apple flavor. So stop by and try them for yourself. They also have some neat items for sale in there store so check them out. I always buy empty bottles here that I use when I bottle my homemade wine. I usually buy 10-20 cases and they will roll them to your vehicle and assist with the loading. Very nice and helpful people working here. Don't forget to get your Trail Card stamped. Better yet don't forget the card on the counter when you leave. Once we leave here we head to Mountain Valley Winery.
  • The wine tasted awesome and the guy serving it to me was very friendly. The food at the restaurant was AMAZING!!!! My fiance and I ate there two nights in a row because it was just so good!
  • This place was just wonderful ,had very thing needed for an afternoon out and about. I'm camping in Pigeon River and saw your website, so glad I took the drive in to check it out!!!
  • Apple Barn used to be my must stop place. I never tried the others til recently when I realized how much their service sucked. Don't get me wrong, their wines are really good if you like sweeter wines! The apple is different, welcoming and yummy. But the staff are more concerned, it seems, with getting people out of their face. They're rude, snobbish and just don't care about you or your interest in buying their wine. We went in wanting to try their sweet and semi sweet wines, which has never been a problem there or at any of the others. He sighed heavily and said "we're too busy you can only try 6 so figure out which ones you want" Now I'll attest that yeah there were a few ppl in the store but most were looking at the knickknacks and what not, and affluent wine people have no problem waiting for a good experience. Although they could use more than 2 designated tasting stations if they're always so busy. He then proceeded to pour a dollop, if you can call it that without telling us what it was. I understand not giving big portions to not lose money, but we told him we were buying a 3 pack and the amount given could not even be called a sip. You couldn't taste a difference in them other than the first one or crackers. The thing is, is after visiting the others in the area, the staff has always been quick and kind of rude. Maybe it's because I'm in my mid 20's I must not look like a wine snob, but anyone who knows me knows I love my wine! This place has gone downhill in the past few years. I may or may not stop here again... or maybe just enough to get my wine tour stamp for the nice glass at the 3rd stop, but that's about it. The lack of service is just too non existent for my apple loving self to enjoy without a bitter taste in my mouth... and we all no bitter wine is just not worth it.
  • Great selection and they offer tastings
