Schnebly Hill Vista Overlook, Sedona

4.4
#5 of 19 in Scenic Drive in Arizona
An unpaved route that moves from a mesa into the Sedona Valley, Schnebly Hill Vista Overlook attracts those who love scenic off-roading. Layer upon layer of sedimentary rock provide hues of red, orange, brown and green. For the best views, start at the road's plateau and descend 609.6 m (2,000 ft) into the valley. The rocky road is best-suited for four-wheel drive vehicles. It can become impassable in wet weather, so be sure to check the forecast before heading out. • This was our first Jeep trail and it was stunning! We met our Son and girlfriend at the I-17 exit and took the road into Sedona. The views are absolutely stunning and the trail is fun to drive. We met...  more »
  • This road which does not run in ordinary car-is only at 10-12 km, but it may well take more than 1 hour to get to the top. In advance I had chosen this tour as being one in terms of peak. The ride itself was surprisingly challenging and fun at the same time-but the Outlook on the various campsites were some of the most amazing-especially at the Merry-go-Round. There is a reason that this is a popular local destination for outdoor weddings. Wau-a prospect. Take the trip in the morning when the Sun is low and the colors are sharp-it is also at this time that there are fewest tourists.

  • Definitely only with a vehicle with high clearance! Drove (slowly) up to the trail head for "Cow Pies". The area was beautiful and we were thrilled to see a herd of deer and a number of stellers jays....  more »

  • Great place for some epic sunsets You can follow K15 Adventures on Instagram and Facebook. Typically, remote destinations where the journey of Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Hunting, Camping is the principal goal with, some shenanigans thrown in.
  • High clearance vehicle is a must. Views are incredible and because of the terrain, not crowded.
  • Great views and not too busy, we were the only ones there. Went up on an all wheel vehicle kinda deal on a tour with some friends.
  • Great spot. Not recommended for little cars though. The road is rough. It gets windy here at night
  • Nice 4 wheel drive trip. Great views not many people.
