  • Up close view of ancient dwellings at the base of a cliff. Some petraoglyphs. Not as much information as I'd like, but it was free.  more »
  • Fascinating place. A 45 minute hike will get you up close and personal with the cliffside dwellings. You can get so close you can put you fingers into the fingerprints made 700 years ago when the Sina...  more »
  • We were on a Jeep trail and came across this hidden gem! Tucked back into a stunning red butte, the ruins are amazing. You can walk directly up to the face of the ruins and look at the remaining stone...  more »

  • The ruins here are amazing to see. If you are visiting the area you must visit this location. It's a nice little walk to get to it from the parking lot but it's not a difficult walk at all. People of all ages and fitness levels will be fine getting there. I personally went there on a tour through pink jeep tours which I also recommend.
  • The road is unimproved, yet passable with most vehicles. The scenery entices you the further you go off the highway. We took the forest road from 89A west of town going north. Once up to the ruins, it's incredibly worth doing. We took our time and really enjoyed being in areas we've only glimpsed from afar. A number of other vehicles whizzed by and some were a bit reckless. After seeing the ruins, we continued the loop and saw yet more spectacular scenery and came out on Dry Creek Road in Sedona. Well worth doing. We went prepared with water, food and jackets, as well as cell phones and camera.
  • Very cool place. I wouldn't do the drive in a car, pretty crappy road out there. We took small SUV and had no problem.
  • Pink Jeep Tours are lousy concessionaires at this site! They prohibit the public from entering during the posted hours of operation. While PinkJeep may be kind to their paying customers on their tours, they are poor stewards of public spaces, and are rude to the other users of this sacred space. They should not be allowed to stop people from entering at 2:40pm when this space is open until 3.... When one of their employees got a bit pushy with me, I had to be a bigger man and walk away. Privatization of public lands is a terrible idea!!!
  • Another one of the cool archeological sites just west of Sedona which consists of petroglyphs and pictographs from ancient cultures.
