Devil's Bridge Trail, Sedona

4.8
#1 of 53 in Trails in Arizona
Home to the area's largest sandstone arch, Devil's Bridge Trail offers visitors a chance to explore and experience rugged terrain without the strain of an intense hike. Lined with cacti, rock formations, and desert foliage, the trail provides the opportunity to hike to the top of its namesake arch as well as its shaded underside. Though the 2.9 km (1.8 mi) roundtrip hike from the trailhead is moderately difficult, it's fully paved and accessible to hikers of all levels and capabilities. Keep in mind that the arch itself is not fenced off, so exercise caution. • This is a relatively easy hike, a small amount of straight uphill. And when you get to the bridge, its really wide, so you don't get worried about looking down. There is a cliff face near the bridge a...  more »
  • We bypassed a lot of the worst part of the trail by renting an ATV, which I think is the way to go. Once you get past the off-road parking, the trail is pretty nice--starts off flat and gets steeper a...  more »
  • This hike just gets challenging at the end, but it is very much worth the effort. The last mile is beautiful and it is a great photo spot. It is a ledge, so be careful!  more »

  • When you follow signs from Dry Creek Rd that say Devils Bridge the 1st parking lot you come to is paved with restrooms. It's is 3 miles more down the dirt road to another parking area that is for Devils Bridge trail. Then 2 miles to The Bridge. The trail is beautiful but up hill a lot. There is a short part that is almost vertical. Take water and wear hat as there is very little shade.
  • Tough hike but so worth it! The bridge at the top is incredible. Make sure you take the walking trail and not the trail used by the jeeps! Rookie mistake on my part. The trail gets a little tougher as you get closer to the end but the views are worth every step.
  • This trail is very difficult but DEFINITELY worth it IF you can do it! It is pretty long and treacherous! There is quite a walk up and down sandy hills from the parking area to the trailhead and then you start up a long, rocky uphill trail to the most amazing view! Be sure to bring water and you will get dirty!
  • Awesome hike!! Awesome scenery!! The hike is a bit strenuous, so if you plan to drive to the closest parking area to the bridge, you must have a 4wd vehicle. Also, be advised, the most strenuous part of the hike is the direct climb up to it. its really worth the effort though! Bring water!
  • fantastic hike and some of the best views in sedona.....absolutely a MUST DO HIKE. way better if you have a 4 x 4 to get to the trailhead.
