Iron Horse Vineyards, Sebastopol

(200+ reviews on the web)
Winery / Vineyard Food & Drink
The winery is best known for its Sparkling Wines, which have been served at the White House for a quarter century. The Chardonnay radiates elegance and Pinot Noir is the winery's rising star wine.

Iron Horse's Tasting Room is outdoors, rustic and renowned for being exceptionally warm, welcoming and "real". Iron Horse is a working winery (rather than a grandiose visitor center), appreciated for offering a genuine experience of wine country.

  • We had a fabulous time with Kevin. The sparkling is delicious so we joined their wine club. I wish we lived closer so we could spend more time enjoying their beautiful view..
  • The sf Bday party liked the tasting of bubbly and Chardonnay and maybe Pinot. BUT,,, The GPS marker for the Winery was a mile away at the gate. Try to get Google to move it to the actual Winery... "RESERVATION TASTING ONLY TODAY", so ALWAYS CALL AHEAD, people, when on vacation traveling. Especially in the Wine Country. Saw some lovely couples turned away, because they didn't know this Basic Rule of Travel. Listen to 'cal48boy'. The private road is Rough Bumpy Horrible. One lane !! Needs repaving. BAD. The brunette greeter was not friendly today. Google Map Nav shows a second Winery 'Sterling' there, but that is THE OWNER'S HOUSE. Not another winery; Google is so confused! Beware of the horizontal arrow sign pointing RIGHT to first red barn on the Right, as that is not the Winery. CONTINUE STRAIGHT. Ignore that Right pointing arrow on the left side of the lane. There is an oval loop circuit to park in the dirt. Nice view to the East.
  • Good sparkling wine, great view with outdoor tastings.
  • At first I didn't know what to think. The place seemed crowded and a little impersonal. However, once I began my tasting I realized I was wrong. This place is awesome! The views from the tasting area are breathtaking! And the champagne is incredible! The bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. We were even granted the presence of Lucy the vineyard cat! The champagnes were delicious even for non-champagne drinkers like me! I would definitely recommend this winery.
  • Had a great tasting experience in October with Trey ( our second visit to the winery ) The bubbles are delicious and the view alone is worth the trip. We bought a case and joined the bubble club. (The only wine club we belong to.) Looking forward to our first shipment and to a return visit
