Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.

  • If you go to Pike Market, do not miss this store. Take the elevator to ground level; it's just across the street. Whether you want a gift box of sea salt, dry rubs for grilling, or exotic spice mixes ...  more »
  • Whenever I am down in Seattle, I always stop at the World Spice Market to replenish my spice collection. They have a great assortment of spices and blends which are packed with incredible flavour. The...  more »

  • Freshest and most high quality spices and teas. Their blends are amazing and hard to find items no problem. Staff is knowledgeable.
  • Great *smelling* spices, but they are underwhelming in food. It's as if they add a filler. This is after trying many of their spices in many dishes. Disappointing
  • amazing selection of herbs and spices. not exactly exhaustive or the most competitive pricing, but it's fresh and they have hundreds of options. my go-to for meat rubs and obscure international ingredients. DO NOT come here expecting friendly or fast service. the staff are inefficient and sassy, and it's not cute or funny. after coming here for the past seven years, I finally have to call it quits after a woman, who I take to be the owner, scolded a woman for not spending enough for "how much work went into the order"... ALSOOOOO, they had a dog in the shop! that's a health code violation.
  • The selection of spices and teas available here is incredible. They also carry an extensive collection of cook books. This is a great place to come for kitchen inspiration.
  • My go-to for any spices I can't find at the grocery store, or spices that I can find but seem like they wouldn't be fresh. The staff are always very helpful and offer good suggestions based on what I get. My favorites are aleppo pepper, habanero garlic pepper mix, and smoked salt.
