Warren G. Magnuson Park Reviews

This was once a US Navy airfield called "Sandpoint", built on the edge of Lake Washington, an ideal place to test seaplanes. In the fifties, the base was turned into a park named for Washington Senato... more »

Some of my favorite times to visit Magnuson Park are in the fall and winter. Yes it can be raining and yes it can be cold but there are also some wonderful sunny days as well. But I love the visits in... more »

여기 너무 한적하고 예뻐요 사람들에게 잘 알려지지 않아 그런지 사람도 별로 없고 산책이나 피크닉 하기에 더할나위 없이 좋은 장소 more »

Probably the best dog park I've ever been to! It's got I gigantic main area, which leads into a kind of "corridor". At the end of that (it's long, maybe 1/3 of a mile) and there's a gated area that has a medium sized fenced off swimming beach. It's not too muddy so your dog won't get too dirty. One big lap, and you and your dog will be feeling it, but two and you'll both be tuckered out. They provide water and there are large rolls of bags along the fence. No "bathrooms" but they have decently clean honey buckets. Nothing too fancy, but dogs don't care anyway. Would recommend, it's a great dog park!

I take my dog to the dog park here at least 3-4 times a week. He loves it!!! We usually walk all the way down to the water which is a nice long walk from the main entrance. I do wish people were better about picking up their dogs poop though. Other than that I love it!

Former military base converted into a wonderful park with boat access, multiple playgrounds, pea patch, areas for classes. Unfortunately, theft and violence issues are increasing here. As the city of Seattle tries to figure out what to do with the displaced population of homeless and low income folks, the pressure is put on our park so that developers can continue their field day (week, year, decade) elsewhere in the city. Part of the park has been slated to be TRANSITIONAL housing. Unfortunately, the agency overseeing this is NOT in compliance and the limits for staying here are being breached, which is contributing to the issues facing the park. Give people meaningful, safe transitional housing and protect Magnuson from becoming a ghetto - the definition of ghetto: a quarter of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure. (Merriam-Webster)

Great park. I've done many 5k's here and always have a great time. There is a dog park on one side and some nice art around the park. Almost always find parking even on the busier days.

One of a kind dog park. Great for getting a walk in yourself as well, while the beast is off-leash. Walk access for the swimming types is the cherry on top. Love seeing dogs in their element. This is the place. Such interesting grounds surrounding in it in the Magnuson District there. Half-forgotten mid-century utility layout.
