  • Pacific Place at 6th and Pine Street has two of my favorite places to eat. Try Pike Place Chowder on the 4th floor. There are tables along the rail which gives you a nice view below a glass canopied r...  more »
  • This is a true urban mall, five floors of shops, restaurants, a movie theater and a skyway to Nordstrom. Like most higher end malls this one is exceptionally clean with a nice selection of restaurants...  more »
  • It is a square in the financial heart of Seattle. Hidden, it took us 2 days to know that he was there. It has excellent places to eat and exclusive boutiques. It is a very good choice for cold weather or raining since it is completely closed. They have to visit it.

  • A nice multi-level mall in the middle of the city. It's a mix of mid-to high end clothing stores, mostly, but it's nice inside and they do a lot of decorating and events for the holidays. The theater at the top is pretty old and needs remodeling. They have some nice restaurants at the top level as well. Worth a visit for sure.
  • An indoor mall with upscale shopping facilities and a gateway to the monorail that goes to the Space Needle. I particularly loved some of the art that was in there. A clean facility. This is a multilevel mall. Elevator access was tucked off in corners with escalators predominant.
  • Really clean inside with nice stores to shop at. Since it's more of a vertical mall, it's easy to find the store you're looking for. There is a shop here that features local artists that is really fun to check out.
  • Pretty good selection of shops to go window or actual shopping. Limited assortment of food place but pretty good if you want a place to hang out with a friend or solo. AMC theatre is a good place to chill morning through night.
  • Good parking & easy access to the core of downtown. A limited set of stores mostly for women and younger shoppers in the mall. Movie theater and Barnes and noble are good attractions. Food options include a good sports bar and some reasonable restaurants as well as a couple of fast food options. All in all a good starting point for a trip downtown.

Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.
