Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), Seattle

(4.5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Discover for yourself the history and tradition of Seattle and the American Northwest at Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI). Inside the museum you'll find one of the most comprehensive collections of artifacts in the whole region. See the first Boeing commercial plane, take a look through the original World War II submarine periscope, and travel through Seattle's history from the city's beginnings to the modern age. In addition to the permanent displays, which show just a fraction of its collection, the museum regularly sets up themed exhibits (look up the schedule online before you arrive). The museum is easily accessible via public transportation, and there is also designated parking for visitors who arrive by car, as well as the historical wharf for those who prefer to sail in. Make Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) a centerpiece of your Seattle vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Seattle itinerary maker.

  • This museum isn't so much about industry but more about the history of Seattle. It is in the old Naval Armory and well laid out. If you have kids, there is much for them to do on the first floor, but ...  more »

  • this place is fun for adults and kids alike. You could spends hours here and still not take in all the information. just the structure alone is amazing. check out the boats outside(floating museum). worth going back multiple times.
  • I have truly enjoyed my membership and especially being able to bring my granddaughter who is five. She enjoys the free open space to explore and how engaging the exhibits are for her. Thank you for including children's learning needs in your planning.
  • Totally fun. My wife is a teacher and she marveled at all the things she could incorporate into her classroom. Great place for educators, kids, and children at heart :)
  • Great place to know the Seattle history. As it is not just about one particular thing, it might be a little confusing as you walk through the museum. First thursday of month is free entry.😃
  • This is my favorite museum in Seattle. If you like history this is an awesome place to learn about the city and the region. I really enjoyed the first part where you learn about the original owners of the land. If you are a transplant this museum offers a great way to know and understand the city.
