  • There are very few public pools that I could recommend, but this is the exception, It's right on the beach and It has a spectacular view of the Olympic mountains. The pool is at a perfect temperature ...  more »
  • Slightly saline, just the right temperature, not too crowded evening lap swim with the sound at one hand and an historic brick pool house at the other. Very enjoyable. Be prepared for a long walk from...  more »

  • Such a beauty. A little bit of everything that makes the Pacific Northwest so special can be found here. Wooded trails. Rolling meadows. Rocky shores. Mountain views. Sea life. Play fields. Swimming pool. Wading pool. Play structures. A perfect spot for a picnic while you gaze at the ferries gliding across Puget Sound with the Olympics in the background.
  • This park is one of the reasons I felt so strongly about making my move to the Pacific Northwest. A nice wooded path leads you to the beach below. There is a paved pathway that goes for quite a bit. Tons of dogs and families, which is always nice to see! I've seen the occasional food truck come by on weekends. You can tuck into one of the various pieces of driftwood on shore and just watch the water. It is really a beautiful place.
  • Great and underrated park. Tons of space to explore with lots of trails and fun things to do. Very pet and kid friendly. Also check out Coleman pool along the beach open during the Summers.
  • Great park! Two parks in one really.... Paved trail along beachfront with shoreline access along the whole route then lots of forest trails up on the bluff with grassy areas & playfields.
  • Love this park! Hiking trails, playground, beach - it has everything! Watch the ferries come and go, enjoy a picnic, go for a run with a view. One of my favorite spots in Seattle.

Where to stay in Seattle

Famous for its architecture, Seattle's downtown area features a range of lodging options, including high-end hotels offering expensive rooms with views over Elliott Bay. Remember that despite their prices, many hotels in this waterfront district provide rather small rooms. If you need more space but don't want to break the bank, head out of downtown to some of the city's outlying neighborhoods. Seattle's diverse suburbs offer affordable bed and breakfasts, providing you with all the comforts of home and allowing you to see what local life is really like.
